See the other TA reviews, all i can do is repeat what they have so eloquently said. Very old, original; back to the 1700's. I never would have believed something like this still existed and in use today. We were on a river cruise, this was a nite after dinner walk, and what a gem. The town is so quaint;... More

This theatre is located in the heart of the small square - very lovely and filled with history. It is still used today for shows and remains in its original state - Many fun stories were told including the key in the seats, the location of the bathroom and the jail that once was located in view of the stage... I couldn't believe when our guide told us that this in fact, is still a "working" theatre. As soon as you walk in the theatre, you will be transformed in time. The old wooden theatre seats and stage of faded backdrop. Theatre is very old but because of people helping to keep the historical importance of the building, it has... More

Superb little theatre in a picuresque village. Very old. What americans would call"quaint". Nothing like it elsewhere. Do have a look.

We visit this beautiful theater and if you are an Opera or theater liver you must visit this place. Look for the bathroom they use in that time and what they did I'd something amazing happen while using it.... Until my next review.

If you happen to be visiting the very picturesque little town of Grein , you must explore this incredibly authentic little theatre. It's life as a theatre began in 1790 but it was the city hall prior to the final assignation as a playhouse. The remarkable fact about the theatre is that the community throughout the ages have agreed to... More

What a huge surprise! Astonishing when you realise that this has been here since 1791 in pretty much the same form as it is today. With few concessions to luxury, it opens a window on the unsophisticated (to us) entertainment that was then the height of sophistication. If you are within a half day's distance of Grein, make sure you... More

I would not go out of my way to go see this theater. If you happen to be passing by Grein with an hour or so to spare, then drop by and walk around this cute theater which pretty much is one of few attractions in the city of Grein. You can experience what old theater would have felt like...including... More

Grein is a lovely little town and the historic theater is most unique. Built originally in 1563 to act as city hall, then used for grain storage, and finally in 1790 repurposed as a theater, it is well worth a peek in. The interior is unchanged and the original seating for 165 still exists. As this was before the days... More
