Walking on the Jiangnan Wall
Jun 2019 • Family
We enjoyed our walk on the Jiangnan wall. The 200 steps up to the wall weren’t as difficult as reported here in TripAdvisor. There are different exits depending on how long you want to walk on the ramparts. Nice views of the city from the top.

Truely a hidden gem

Not withstanding the first steps, of which there are a great many, that you have to climb to get to the main part of the wall the whole experience was sublime. It was a warm to hot afternoon but with the trees shading everything it was superb. A true delight with many typical pieces of history in most of the keep towers such as drums etc. The river area without being ostentatious was just lovely and so relaxing.
Then you can drop down into the old town which was a delight
Would highly recommend

The baby wall

The wall is a 2 hour bus ride from Ningbo train station , it is worth the ride through because the wall might not be the “ Great Wall” . But it doesn’t make it any less beautiful , you have views all around as you continue the almost 5 km trip .so do yourself a favor and head over there

What a wonderful experience it was seeing this wall. There are food stops along the walk which definitely works well. The view from the top is amazing and the ancient city is filled with various stores

Scenic views and easy access

I wanted to see the Great Wall, and Linhai is an hour to and hour and a half drive from where I stayed for work. I am so glad I got to see this. 65 RMB to enter. It is right in the city. If you stay at any hotel near downtown, this is easy trip. It was many stairs, but worth the walk around the entire section of wall.

We walked leisurely and it was a few hours to make the whole walk. Drinks for sale in some spots. If it is hot out, bring lots of water!

It was 39 degrees F and drizzling during my trip. It made steps slippery but it was still pleasant and I got some great photos.

Great Wall
Oct 2017 • Couples
The entrance fee is 65 rmb, you can buy the combo ticket for the great Wall and the East lake for 70 rmb. Right after the entrance you have to climb 200 steep stairs. After that you can enjoy a long and relaxing walking on the Great wall. It was not crowded. The last part is the most beautiful. At the end of the path you'll reach the very nice old town and the East lake.

A glorious walk
Feb 2017 • Solo
The toughest part is the initial climb up 198 steps. After that, enjoy a glorious walk along the immaculately maintained Great Wall of Linhai (circa 1559). It is uncrowded, often deserted, unlike its namesake. The views are spectacular, and you finish up at a traditional market street, very long, offering every conceivable food and commodity.

well worth the effort to climb all those steps

Don't be put off by the 198 stairs at the entrance - its a wonderful peaceful walk along the wall to the river and old town, as good as the Great Wall but not crowded. If you are a foreigner you will likely be the only one there that day and may get lots of photo requests.

a charming place with a lot of history
Jun 2016 • Solo
The wall used to surround the whole city, both to defense against the pirates from the sea and also the flood. The city is really an amazing place. The wall, although not as long and grand as the Great Wall, it is also very impressive. Building along the river and also the mountain ridges, even today, it will definitely take your breath away. The city is full of history. One should do some homework before visit.

Do not forget the food, which is absolutely fantastic.
