Easy Lake views
Jun 2019
Nice to walk along the man made East Lake with it’s traditional lakeside Chinese motifs. It’s also good for people watching. Part of the lake is free and another part can be accessed for a small fee with the ticket for walking on the ancient wall.

Relaxing walking

One side of the lake is free and one costs 15 rmb, it is possible to buy a combo ticket (great Wall and East lake for 70 rmb). It is a nice man made lake, relaxing walking watching the local life

Nice lake in the middle of the city

You have to pay to enter the lake park but if you are going on the Southern Wall you can buy a combined ticket for 70RMB (Wall usually 65 and Eastlake usually 15) Pleasant spot for a morning or afternoon walk, paddle boats etc, and very few people - not overrun with tourists like many spots in China. Well worth a visit.

Man made lake , quite stylish

In the best part of Linhai - is this huge man made lake. In hot weather it can smell a little and be very careful if walking around it in the evening .. the mosquitos will have you for dinner !

If you are staying at the hotel opposite ( China overseas) you will have a great view of this lake.
Looks good . Many expensive new properties surrounding it.

Amazing scenery

We rented a little boat (inexpensive) and floated along this peaceful lake with the most beautiful scenery. The Great Wall of China is very close to the lake.

Lovely lake next to great wall
Jun 2014 • Family
It was just beside the entrance of the great wall and you can basically see the lake from above when you climb up the 200 steps to reach the top tower. The lake is like a huge garden in the city and lots of activities in the morning

Linhai's Lovely East Lake
Apr 2013 • Family
East Lake, Dong Hu in Chinese, is a small and very pretty lake and one of the major attractions of Linhai. With the mountains and stairway to the old city wall on the Northern end and classical architecture of the old tea house and other structures on the eastern side, the West Lake is a refreshing change from the crazy traffic and noise of the city which borders it on three sides.
We lived in Linhai for four years and spent several lazy mornings or afternoons on and around the lake, usually hiring a battery powered boat for an hour, lying in the cool shade of the trees or pavilions in warmer weather, and enjoying our picnic. The south, west, and north shores are free to enter but the eastern side with its attractive gardens and pavilions can only be entered after buying a ticket. Ticket prices are a little expensive (in Chinese terms) but cheaper for locals and as the place is quite well maintained I think it's worth it. Certainly a nice place to visit and get a feel for Chinese culture.

Worth a visit if you are in the city. Many beautiful buildings and a walk round the lake is very relaxing after a long walk on the Great Wall !

A small lake in the middle of Old Town Linhai. Not a great path around it, but, some lovely old structures.
