Paying respects to the great Tibetan Kings
Sep 2017 • Friends
"The Valley of the Kings" is another name for "Tombs of Tibetan Kings" and contains 23 graveyard tumuli on Mure Mountain in Shannan area. The founder of the Tibetan Empire, Songtsen Gampo is among the 17 kings whose names are identifiable. Visiting the kings' home in the afterlife opened another window to the Tibetan culture. We walked clockwise around the main tomb and paid our respects to the great Tibetan kings. We visited there during our loop trip from Lhasa to the eastern part of Tibet.
