What a gem of a museum! We knew nothing about it, but being in Canosa main square, and with time to spare, we decided to visit it. It was absolutely worth it. The museum opens your eyes to the life of the richest family in Canosa in the 19th century. Two rooms contain some beautiful archeological artifact of Canosa Hellenistic period, but of course you can see better ones in the Archeological museum. Where the place is unbeatable is in the very well preserved 19th century rooms. Really beautiful. The staff of the museum was incredibly kind and helpful: the museum itself is managed by a small group of young archeologists who deserve praise for their work and passion. One of them, Sandro Sardella, explained us at length the house subterranean basement. He is available for organized archeological tours, tel. 3923257534.
In all, it is really worth a visit.

I came to the town by pure chance initially, and was surprised by how many great places are there in Canosa, but this museum was one of the most exciting places there; it really made me say "wow!"when I entered it.
Here, history of Canosa is presented to visitors - from archaeological findings to rich interiors of 19th century, and there are usually various temporary exhibits held, and all other historical and cultural activities dedicated to the lands around.
So, visit this museum if you are nearby and it will be a great experience! Canosa itself worth visiting because of such a great landmarks!
