History comes to life at Mont Orgueil Castle, which for over 600 years protected Jersey against French invasion. Explore the network of staircases, towers and secret rooms to discover hidden treasures.

Every time you visit you'll discover a staircase you've not seen before opening up into a room where you'll find something new. Discover Hidden artwork commissioned to tell the story of the castle; Climb the turrets to find the medieval ‘wheel', and descend into the cellar to experience the exhibit. Life-size wooden soldiers guard the castle from attack and 'the wounded man' statue shows the fate that could befall those fighting to save the castle from invasion.

Our taxi driver told us to visit this castle, and it was well worth it. You do however have to be fit, to climb all the steps to the top. We were taken round on a guided tour by Alan, a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic chap. He showed us the main parts which took around one and a half hours,... More

Visited on late August Bank holiday weekend. The sun was out and that made it a great day. Beautiful views over the bay. The castle itself is great. Many many steps and not really pushchair/wheelchair friendly. A lot of boards around the castle for the visit.

Well worth a visit. Lots of steps to climb but worth it for the beautiful views around the Bay and coastline. On a clear day you can see France.

Beautiful castle with stunning views. Staff very informative and helpful. Lots of steps-may not be suitable for elderly/disabled.

This is a fantastic castle to look around although we opted to have the 1 hour long guided tour by Doug, one of the volunteers. So glad we did. Doug was not only knowledgeable but also really keen and enthusiastic about the history of the place. We were shown around the main parts of the castle then given suggestions on... More

We missed this on our previous vacation so we were very glad we decided to visit this time around. What a truly amazing and fascinating place. Well organised with informative signage you can easily spend a very good day here, especially if the weather is any way favourable. We decided not to use the tour guide services but take our... We spent over 2 hours exploring this castle and the history. The parking can be difficult as the car park is very small so we parked on the road. There is a small cafe and shop as always. Not recommended for disabled though as there are a lot of steps.

This castle was one of the highlights of our trip to Jersey. It helped that it was a very warm and sunny day when we visited. It is quite steep in parts and therefore somewhat unsuitable for people with mobility issues.

We visited the castle today and had a good look around. It is fantastic to think it was built so long ago with so little machinery. Loads of rooms to explore a real maze inside. What a view from the top too , a must if visiting the island . Plenty of restaurants at the bottom in the streets below... More

Went for a drive round the island and Corey Fete & decided to go into the castle, I'm glad we did, it was huge inside with lots of internal rooms still standing. Some wonderful views from the top. Really interesting.
