History comes to life at Mont Orgueil Castle, which for over 600 years protected Jersey against French invasion. Explore the network of staircases, towers and secret rooms to discover hidden treasures.

Every time you visit you'll discover a staircase you've not seen before opening up into a room where you'll find something new. Discover Hidden artwork commissioned to tell the story of the castle; Climb the turrets to find the medieval ‘wheel', and descend into the cellar to experience the exhibit. Life-size wooden soldiers guard the castle from attack and 'the wounded man' statue shows the fate that could befall those fighting to save the castle from invasion.

Visited the castle after being fog bound in Jersey and had a day to kill. Well worth the visit and had a very leisurely walk around the castle visiting most ( I think) of the rooms etc. Quite a few surprises too as you pass from room to room and turret to turret.

I would definitely recommend Mount Orgieil Castle. Lots to see in there & the walk up the steps inside is definitely worth it for the fantastic views at the top. If I am lucky enough to visit Jersey again I would visit the castle again & would recommend to others to visit

It was a very hot day when we visited so some of the climbs were hard work, but worth it. There's fantastic views from the different levels and lots of interesting things to see, my favorite being the fantastic tree of succession which showed the French and English monarchs. It's very higgledy-piggledy inside and you are in danger of missing... More

One of the joys of the castle is to try and navigate it all, climb every staircase and see what you find. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit. More

I went on the guided tour which was superb, you learn lots that you wouldn't know otherwise. A lady in costume played the harp and other instruments. There's quite a lot of steps to walk up but you don't do them all at once. The views from the top are excellent.

The wife and I visited here yesterday (23/07/16) as we're currently in Jersey on holiday. Although there are no artifacts to view within the castle the place is interesting to see. I would advise that you watch the short video upon entering. This can be found playing on screen in a room next door to the cafe. This will give... More

This is probably the most impressive castle on Jersey, certainly from the outside but they don't make the most of it. The information boards inside are limited and many are so weathered as to be unreadable. However if you can catch one of the free guided tours the enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteer guides is excellent. The views from... More

Our first visit for 35 years. A beautiful building full of interest and information. I especially liked the rack of dressing up clothes so that children could tour the castle dressed as a princess or a knight. It's quite a climb to the top but the view is worth it. Very steep or slippery stairs are labelled so that they... More

from the outside the castle looks amazing, but once inside it is actually super amazing. Loads to see and loads to make you think about with regards to the history if not only the castle but the island aswell.

Excellent venue, in my mind the best on the Island, can be a long climb to the top, on a hot day it will take it out of you , but well worth the veiws from above, lots to see.
