We visited here as part of a Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos trip. Whilst it was wonderful to see these animals and hold them, it was a constant thought and concern if indeed these animals are being saved, well looked after and indeed why they are here. It does translate to a farm at the end of the day and not a sanctuary.

Too many in such a small space on my opinion and they don't move much. No freedom to swim bless them and the boat trip earlier that day showed us dozens of them swimming freely in the river. After holding the crocodiles, you are stood by a large concrete building with very little water in it and dozens upon dozens of young crocodiles. This was unsettling to see.

Probably not the best place for an animal lover. Unless they up their game, declare themselves a sanctuary and start showing all the good work they do and why they do it. 🙏🏼

I was taken here as part of a trip to Las Coloradas and like that, you won't learn anything if you don't know Spanish. They abuse the Crocs by taping up the babies mouth and whacking a huge Crocodile countless times as it wasn't hungry to didn't want to take the food from the idiot tourists who were complict in this abuse. I stayed away and was watching the Suicidal Vultures. Don't go.

Does it have to be like this? Baby crocodiles for photos. One-year-olds in a closed bunker. Adults in a confined space in shallow water.
But what are we doing better with our livestock farming?
Mixed feelings!
Visited on a booked tour to Los Coloradas.

I tried to visit the granja with my family after seeing such great reviews about it here. We found the place, wich was not too easy, even asking around. Even locals don't know about it too much. But my excitement was short lived. Although they had a huge banner that said open to the public, we were turned away at the door. Told that they weren't letting people in anymore that day, because they had a big group inside that had made reservations. through the gates and wire fence we could see was a group of 8 French tourists we had met earlier that day. I asked if we can wait, they said no, it was too close to closing. It was 2:50pm, their listed closing time was 6pm!! I asked if it was only by reservation that the allow people in, and no they're open to the public, just not that day. We had driven almost 3hrs to get there and they didn't let us in. Bummed.

Food is Great! However the manner in which crocodiles and guests are allowed to treat crocodiles is not safe. Crocodiles are nocturnal yet they allow guests to poke them with sticks during the day and tease them. Ever play tug of war? Every time you touch a crocodile you should wash your hands and wash your phone. This was not done. You are walking around crocodiles and don’t even see them behind the fence. NOT SAFE AT ALL!

My husband and I stopped off on the way back to Cancun - pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. Lovely experience, certainly got the heart racing, I didn't expect to be holding baby Crocodiles or feeding the larger ones.

We visited on a stormy afternoon. We were the only visitors at the time. Make sure you wear plenty of repellent as there are mosquitos. We were shown aroubd by Eme (sorry if this is wrong spelling) we were shown a young croc and allowed to hold him. It was explained to us how crocs lay eggs, gestation time etc. Then on we went to tge viewing platform to view 30 or so 9 yr old crocs.
Next we were shown adolescent crocs kept in concrete enclosures. In one there were 65 young crocs. Our guide told us she gets in the enclosure and cleans it!!!! We fed the crocs meat on a stick at an open door!!! Next we entered an adult croc enclosure!!!
The tour is in Spanish only. Its quite scary at times!!!!
$125 peso pp admission. I would facebook them a message to make sure they are open when you are going.

We stumbled in on a suggestion of our captain in Rio Lagartos... it was PERFECT
Jose was our guide and we have twin 2.5 YO boys so this was a tough crowd to keep entertained but kudos to him as he did it!
He was patient & kind and fast and attentive and kept them interested the 45 minute tour.
He moved it along fast enough to not lose their interest while having them feed crocs yet not rushing and giving us all information we asked.
He was confident with the crocodiles and when my boys are older we will go back just for this experience. Up close with the crocodiles!!! He even taught them a little fishing on the way out. My boys chat about it daily!!!

A very good experience that allows to help finance conservation projects of a precious animal. They attend to you with great kindness and explain in detail what they do with the animals.
