If you’re a birder, ask for Captain Carlos! We took personal 3 hour sunset mangrove tour with flamingo feeding grounds as the final destination. Our guide, Carlos, was a great birder and even spotted a mangrove cuckoo! The best little perk was the cooler of beer they provided for us to take in the boat! Don’t think twice about this company. We had a great time and would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks Carlos!

We spent four unforgettable hours birding and wildlife watching with Rio Lagartos Adventures. Our magnificent guide Carlos Can was very kind and welcoming and provided us with the most memorable outing during our time in Yucatán! It was a private tour, just my husband and myself, and Carlos quickly realized our priorities and gave us a very personalized experience. He was highly skilled at spotting birds and wildlife, very knowledgeable about all the species we encountered and always made sure we had plenty of time to observe and photograph. Our highest recommendations for Rio Lagartos Adventures and guide Carlos Can!!

Andrea took us in her boat into the Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve where we observed 41 species including 45 magnificent Frigate Birds soaring and 3 Mangrove Warblers. Black-crowned and Yellow-crowned Night Herons hang out on the docked fishing boats at night. The Owner, Diego, took us into the coastal scrub where we observed 40 species including 3 Lesser Roadrunners and 5 different hawk species. The guides were very professional, the food and accommodations were good and the hospitality was outstanding. The price was a bargain. There's even a chance to swim with a crocodile in a small cenote nearby!

We did the 4 hour nature lovers tour. It was cold and cloudy but still such an amazing experience! Carlos was great! He was knowledgeable and his English was perfect. We saw all kinds of birds including flamingos! We saw Las Coloradas and crocodiles too! It was better than we expected and definitely the highlight of our day.
