Had a great time at curious corner with my family. Amongst every staff, Yogesh was the elite guide. He was entertaining & gave us the best explanation with details. No one was close enough. Highly recommended to visit in Mauritius 🇲🇺

I read online, and we opted to go here instead of the seven sands. Our son whom is nine, was super keen. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Convenient parking. Novel, fun element, would have been nicer if the out door area was more interactive. All in all a pleasant end to our day, before the drive back to Port Louis

After visiting Seven Colored Earths and recommendation of our friends, we visited Curious Corner and were nicely surprised. It was fun for the adults and kids alike. There are many things to discover and see and it it is high tech. We enjoyed the upside-down room, the ames room, kids loved the music stairs and most of all the mirror maze! We did that one three times in a row and it never stops being fun! The personnel is very friendly and helpful and will explain to you any and every experiment you may want to try and put your hands on! We also enjoyed nice coffee place outside after our visit! Do not leave Chamarel without visiting this fun place, it will make your day even better!:)

Hi Sonja, We are very happy to hear you had a 'nice surprise and lot's of fun' on your recent trip to the Curious Corner. Glad you all enjoyed the various attractions/exhibits and our coffee! Many thanks for your visit and for your fantastic review. We have only been open for 2.5 months and have received over 4500 visitors, all basically through 'word of mouth' and recommendations. So thank you again for helping to 'spread the word' about us. 'keep Curious' .

It was a rainy day in Mauritius, so we finally got off the beach towels, to go explore the island.
We went up the mountains, to Chamarel, visited the Coloured Earths, and then saw this strange building along the way.
As you go through this place, something catches your eye at every step. You ask yourself: “How’s that done?” or “Do we ever see things the way they really are?”
Some of the exhibits are really puzzling. There’s an illusion that gets you thinking that a rubber hand is really part of your own body. I loved the room that made my nine year old son tower over me ... and I’m 6ft 1! The zone where you make music by cutting light-beams is fantastic ... I became a top-class Mauritian drummer in no time at all! (Well, kind of...)
The last section you go through, the maze of mirrors, is mind-blowing. It really feels like you are in a different world, going on forever and ever, where you see hundreds of images of yourself all getting lost as well. Just a-maze-ing (...sorry for the pun)!!!
Two criticisms though: the parking area is a little small. Parking took a bit of negotiating. Second, the selection in the garden cafe is a bit limited... And ... what no alcohol ?? After an hour and a half inside, a beer, even better a rum, would really have gone down a treat.
Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Really made the afternoon something we will remember.
Definitely one of the best places we visited in Mauritius ... when we did get ourselves off of the beach.
Excellent value for money! Would definitely recommend going here. ... Come rain or shine ;)

Hi 2Rose1000,
Thanks for your visit and glad you enjoyed what we are doing. Thanks also for the great review - I'm glad it was raining on that day!
We've only just opened, and yes we're keeping an eye on the parking - numbers - and how many visitors will come. We also hope to expand the cafe, but are taking things step by step.Have applied for our alcohol licence. Hope you'll be able to come back, and join us for a beer or rum in the gardens, at some stage in the future ...
All the best and 'Keep Curious'

First of all we found out that the price at the entrance is ridiculously expensive!
While doing the tour, if the Staff found out you are Mauritian they will not assist you the same way that they will assist the tourists. I mean in Mauritian Creole " Guet ou traver" and I have even heard some staffs talking to each other saying "Sa gaspillage guide zot sa..pa pou gagne Tip" Translation : Its not worth to guide those people as they will not Tip us".
They are not friendly at all with Mauritians.
Also we didn't really appreciate the fact that in the House with the Kitchen the lady told us that I needed to take the picture with the roof and floor then rotate the picture so that it can look funny just as the one of their profile picture on TripAdvisor, is this a joke?? I didn't pay 2000 rupees for all my family to rotate my pictures??
Regarding the attractions some was fun some not so much..

Hi Christelle,
Many thanks for your visit and thanks for sharing your thoughts in kind review. Sorry for not reverting sooner. I apologise about the incident with one of our Team. We looked into it and it was one of our part time staff, who are no longer with us. We certainly not accept this sort of attitude from any member of our Team. Some of our attractions are about quirky photos that need rotating at times. Glad you enjoyed some of our exhibits and please drop us an email at info@curiouscornerofchamarel.com with any thoughts on how we may improve,
Thanks & regards

I had looked at the reviews for this little museum before we arrived in Mauritius and was hoping we would be able to visit. It did not disappoint!! You can get round it easily in 1-2 hours. It is full of optical illusions and enjoyed by all ages. The mirror maze was fantastic and so funny. All the staff were so friendly and there was a little cafe there too. The beautiful view of the lagoon on the road up to the museum would have been worth the visit on its own!!

This was a long drive from where we stayed up north, it took us a little more than an hour. All of CCC will take you a almost the same time. We enjoyed the simple things that remind us of the child inside us.
