We visited three Mauritius attractions that offered "the house" rum, and the Rhumerie was the most affordable.

An enjoyable hour or so viewing the fairly new Rhumery and sampling the rum. Most I didn’t like. Guide spoke very good English Book here for lunch and you get a free tour and cocktails.

This is an absolute gem. Only 10 years old so everything still looks modern and well maintained. The tour was well organised and we tried several runs before being left to browse shop. Great trip

I went there and it was just SUPERBE. They include a free visit and rum tasting if you go for Lunch. The guide "Ursula" was excellent and described all the process in the rum making. The rum tasting session was also very good. I have...More

I was worried when driving to the rhumerie that this may be a slight tourist trap particularly considering the 400/person entry fee but I was genuinely delightfully surprised. The drive to the rhumerie is a beautiful (if slightly unnerving) winding single lane road up the...More

The destillery has beautiful settings with flowers, trees and hills. One is able to see the whole work prosess, even see a old wheel loader loading sugar canes back of the building. Service was great. A bit much to taste 9 different rums maybe but...More

Access to this attraction including lunch was included as part of our all day excursion to this part of the island. It is interesting to see how from really unpromising ingredients A rather nice spirit is made. Plenty of opportunity to try the product before...More

The guides are great with both english and french. Very intructive about how their rum is made. If you want to see the sugacane processing better u go during the week as public holidays and weekends they only do a narrative .the factory does not...More

One for the rum fans... There is a tour of the distillery explaining the process right from sugarcane to your glass. This is very interesting, however the bulk of the experience is rum tasting. The tasting is very much optional, however bear in mind that...More

Prices vary dramatically from 20 to 300 Euros. In my opinion, the rum is not very good compared to the Caribbean and Central America. If you really need a bottle, the Lazy Dodo is quite cheap and makes an okay souvenir. I... More
