Dropped in for a short visit while passing through Wingham. A 13th century church with a number of later additions. There is a monument to the Oxenden family in the south trancept.

What to say? My wife and I were married here and so we think it is simply perfect. All in all, a lovely setting!

A very old 11th century church struggling to keep going as they have no income from a diocese and all monies for upkeep come from the congregation.A beautiful screen from France above the High altar. The church is full of historical items. An excellent guide book.A particular feature was the covered plain windows with coloured hand prints of the congregation. The churchyard is historic with the gravesend of many fr Wingham over the years. We met two members of the congregation. One lady doing some cleaning and another looking after floral arrangements.Well worth a visit.

Entering this wonderful church in the pretty village of Wingham, I was reminded of scenes from The Darling Buds of May. As "Pop Larkin'" might have put it, "Perfick". As you go in, all noise and other life disappears. It is the perfect place to sit and think. Whilst in the area take time to visit Wingham itself which is a lovely village. Also, just through Wingham is Wingham Wildlife Park. There is a bus service from Canterbury which stops in all three destinations mentioned.
