Went on Course B Aokigaharajukai doukutsu mystery tour with my husband. The cave was a tad scary as there are no stairs to walk on or rails to hold on to. We managed alright in sneakers and the helmets they lent us prevented us from bashing our skulls in against jagged rocks and icicles. It was a tougher climb than we expected but that made it all the more worthwhile and unforgettable. Our guide Fukuda-san was wonderful, telling us how the entire ecosystem works in the forest. Highly recommended but you may need to check if they offer tours in English.
