Sadly we went there on a cloudy day so the view of Fuji was overshadowed with clouds. There was the herb festival in full swing with local performances and local food stalls. We also had a good wander around the lavender and herbs small fields....More
Though it was winter and not much flowers were in bloom, my family still enjoyed visiting this park for the unblocked view of Mt. Fuji. We took the retro bus going here. It was a short walk from the last bus stop to here.
Very nice views of Mt Fuji and the lake. It was a little early so most flowers were not out. Based on the number of lavender plants this park would be drop dead gorgeous in summer. Easy to get to from the hop on hop...More

I have not been to Chureito Pagoda so can’t advise you which is better. But if you are already in Lake kawaguchiko area and not in a rush, you might want to visit Oishi Park as it is quite near (take red line bus). Don’t need a lot of time. I did it as last stop and then turn back to the kawaguchiko station.
