Fun but overpriced and feels dated.

It is funny and you probably would need to experience it once in your life. Like a 1980 tv show with monkeys :) live. I felt it is being overpriced though. In a closed theatre and you could take photos of the monkeys too.

Don’t expect much
Oct 2017 • Family
To me Kawaguchiko is not much to offer other than MT Fuji. The side attractions are there but do not promise much on their own strength.

Monkey theatre is one such travel spot, built on the backing of just two monkeys and their hyperactive and garrulous master. The entry fee is stiff for what you get. There is not much help for non-Japanese language audience.

The place is located at bus stop number 18 on the right hand side while coming from railway station. It is opposite Konohana Art Museum. Just cross the car park and you are there. So you can’t miss it. What you’ll miss, however, is the thrill and the pleasure you might have built in your mind.

Waste of time
Apr 2016 • Couples
It is nothing we expected. Only 2 monkeys and lots oа talking in Japanese with a little translation on the backstage. 45 minutes of this show - waste of time and money. It is advertized to me a monkey theater, but they should mention that it is a theater oа 2 monkey and 2 many-talking human beings. We came there because were living close by. If we knew the quality of the show before - would not come

Good show but need to cater to tourist
Apr 2015 • Family
We went early in the morning to catch the 10am show. We reach at about 9am so spent some time at the attraction grounds. Fed some monkey and enjoy the cool morning air.

The show itself is about 45 min or less. Mainly in Japanese though limited subtitles shown through the projector but we are surely if we understand Japanese we will truly enjoy the show. The trainer was like talking a lot but the subtitles only show one sentence. So I hope the management will put more effort to cater to tourist who don't understand Japanese.

Overall good show by the monkeys.

Sarusans!

Fun monkey show! Although in japanese they have subtitles of the monkeys acts. It can get very crowded as it's a popular attraction, so make sure you ask at your hotel if there is seating for a specific time. Show times are every hour and lasts about 45 minutes. It's a lot of fun!

Probably better in its heydays

There were just five of us in the crowd. Monkeys seemed like they didn't want to perform--angry and reluctant.

Smart little monkies! Fantastic show!

While staying at Mt. Fuji, we shopped, ate, visited the lake, and THEN, we went here... very good. The gift stores and grounds were very neat too... we loved it all. These little "actors" are very smart, obedient, and talented. Very strong, and they can balance really good too. You can touch them after the show and get a quick photo too.
