After driving down the mountain and stopping at a local village we stopped at the 2 lakes to get additional views of Mt Fuji as we were leaving the area.

We traveled out to the lake using the local bus using the two day saver pass. There were great views across to Mount Fuji.

Drove here to see this pretty lake on a miserable cold and wet day. It was enough to raise the spirits

As a landscape photographer you’re out to look for vantage points that may include water in the foreground. Lake Saiko is one perfect place to take a picture of Mt Fuji. Period.

Lake Saiko at bus stops 67/ 73 (green sightseeing bus), presents one of the best locations to catch beautiful Mt Fuji when the sky is clear. It captures the shimmering light reflections around 2pm-3pm with a clear majestic view of Mt Fuji.

We only had time to view the lake from the sightseeing bus as it looped round, but it was a beautiful sight - even in the rain!

There are many camping sites surrounding the lake. Hiking trails cover the mountains and hills bordering the lake. Several caves formed during the past eruptions of Mt Fuji can also be found in the vicinity. Ice ,Wind and Bat caves being the notable ones. The...More

Never heard of this place before, but when we reached Lake Saiko ( near Gyominsou / 魚眠荘 ), we quickly realize that this might be the best Fuji-San viewing spot in the summer. This place was not too big and very quiet ( we visited...More
