The ashoka pillar is superb structure of mauryan period and kept inside the Allahabad fort. This fort is under the control of Army and tourists are not allowed to go inside without obtaining special pass.

The place now serves as a cantonment for the army and is out of bounds for visitors. Special passes may be arranged but the process is not a regular thing. Simply put, nothing worth at the place except for a temple

This pillar scuplter is kept in Allahabad fort. One can see the great piece evidence of mauryan period of India.

You can find this huge Ashoka Pillar if you are heading towards Allahabad Fort. It has an excellent view.

It is a very well maintained Pillar Dedicated to Buddhism built by King Asoka. The Pillar is located in the Allahabad Fort and forms center of a round about.
