We were confused whether we should visit this place and finally we did. It's really a good place to visit. A man collected shells from all over the world for 33years and made this museum. A fish aquarium and pear museum are also there. They are building other fun areas also

Different types of shells collected from all over the world. They have put together various different experiences like minerals, aquarium and also dino museum and each is charged separately. It's an ok experience to spend a couple of hours though fee to visit all the exhibits is on the expensive side. There's also a shop selling pearls, shells, jewellery and other nicknacks. Got a few items good for gifting. They also have a fish spa. Good to do if you haven't experienced before.

The museum has some good things about collection of shells and artifacts made from them. However ticket is overpriced. Its a small museum and tickets are overpriced. People are lured to buy into combo offer of Rs. 300 per person instead of summed up price of Rs. 500 (which is hyperinflated. further, two museums are not included (3D trick art museum which is Rs. 50 extra, and horror museum (another 50 extra).

While technically management is clearly stating what is included, they are not mentioning, what is not included. Feels like misguiding of all inclusive price of 300 rupees. It seems many others have also given this feedback.

Shopping of goods made from seashells and conches. Good quality and designs although at premium pricing.

They have a very impressive collection of shells from across the world. Everything is well maintained and the displays are simple and informative. Had never seen anything like this before it was amazing to see the varieties on display.
Apart from the main sea shell collection museum, they also have a few other attractions like a pearl museum, aquarium etc. The aquarium was very ordinary, but the pearl museum was again really amazing.
The place was undergoing some renovation when we visited and they seem to be adding more attractions.
Overall its surely worth a visit.

Nice place to see and spend a day with family. They have a good collection of aquatic organisms along with museums that houses sea shells. There is a separate sea shell museum which has been termed as mini SIngapore. The museum is well maintained, neat and clean. There is a place for experiencing virtual reality. Personally that was the favourite part of my visit.

Awesome and must visit place in mahabalipuram. Museum has largest collection of shells in the world. Connected to this there is Fish Aquarium and fish foot spa. Pearl Museum is also located in this zone. Must visit in Mahabalipuram and it opens from 8am to 8pm. Collection of shells and pearls is from tiny miniature to larges sizes is huge., Also, the place is well maintained with all covid precautions. the shell creation in the entrance is huge almost 20ft height.

Amazing Experience. If you are in Mahabalipuram or are on your road to Pudducherry from Chennai, this is a place not to be missed. The unfortunate part is that they have tried to convert this into an amusement park and hence the few negative reviews. The Shell Museum and the Pearl Museum are amazing. They have a huge variety of shells from all over the world. I guess they have the largest shell collection in the world. They have some of the smallest shells to some gigantic shells. The keeper of this museum is very knowledgeable and talk with him and he will tell you some amazing details. This is actually a collection of one individual who happens to be the nephew of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The Pearl Museum is also very good. Lots of varieties of pearls.

The rest of the things there are ok.

My wife and I had a great experience.

I didn't know so many types of seashells exist, till I visited this museum. They have a pearl museum, a mineral room, an aquarium (with a fish pedicure stall), an arcade and a dinosaur park. The dinos look real and the sounds they emanate and their movements are a delight for any kid (or adult!) A must-visit if you have little ones interested in dinosaurs.
They also have a mart where you can shop for things made of shells/pearls.
