It is located near Pancha Rathas. There is entry ticket of ₹10/- for adults & ₹3 /- for children's. There is only one way for climbing up and coming down, which very narrow. You will get exited after reaching to the top of light house. You will get good panoramic view from top if light house. One side see shore... More

The rocks/ caves at the bottom are interesting. Getting to the old lighthouse is not for the stiff but it's well worth the effort for the view.

The climb to the top is very scary but worth it. Small spiral stairs give you a head spin. View from the top is great. The entry ticket is just rs 10 so does not pinch your pocket at all.

Its a great place to visit. One can see vast sea, temples, town at a glance. You are allowed to go on the top. Best for Panoramic View.

Perched atop a hill, u get an excellent view of mamallapuram town from the top. The stairs are quite steep, especially the finally flight of stairs, which is really steep. Quite difficult to climb for elderly and people carrying small children. But over all a good place!!

You get stunning panoramic views of Mahabalipuram from the top. Space at the top is narrow, so you have to be cautious as you move in a circle. Climb up to the top through spiral stairs is fun but can be challenging for elderly people and children. It is a functional light house and you can see it beaming at... More

We had visited this site located right behind Mahisamardini cave in the complex maintained by Archeological department during our sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. There is a small entrance fee and one has to climb close to 100 narrow steps to reach the top but it is worth the effort. We went to the top of the lighthouse and got a picturesque... More

The lighthouse is an imposing building and situated next to the Mahisasurmadrdini caves. The light house has 92-93 steps, 78 of which are very easy to climb. The last stretch is in a curvature and demands slightly more effort. But then you reach the top and the view is magnificent! You see the clear waters of the Bay of Bengal,... More

The lighthouse was really crowded , the steps too narrow that it was too difficult for two people to pass through. Not recommended for I guess fat people and to the top there is a really cramped staircase. People take infinite time to move and since really limited people can be on top, its really time consuming. But at the... More
