Ancient architecture. Beautiful view from top of the lighthouse. Go to top step by step, you need to be strong to ride on top. See the sea, crocodile sculpture and the nature.

While it's quite a walk up the lighthouse, specially considering how hot it gets here, but the view from the top is stunning! Probably one of the best things to see in mahabalipuram.

When Mahabalipuram was a busy trading port the pallavas built a small light house to guide ships. In its place a new one was built about a hundred years ago. Visit if you want to view the town from above. A small entry fee is levied.

Light house is situated on a hill in Mahabalipuram which can be visited during 10am till 6pm. Entry fee of 10/- to climb up the light house is charged per person at the entrance of the light house. You can see the entire area around Mahabalipuram from top of the light house.
