2 temples in one complex
Jul 2018 • Couples
The first temple we get to see just after the parking area is the Ganapati temple. It's a standalone structure, which seems to have been built recently. Another temple is just a few steps away where Shiva & Nandi are worshipped.

There is a river flowing by the Ganapathi temple and people wash clothes by the banks making the entire place quite dirty.

Nice temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Located on the road to Kolhapur, this temple has nice ambiance. People come here to offer their worship.

Currently under renovation
Nov 2016 • Friends
As of the date of my visit, the temple was under renovation. Nevertheless, there was still decent arrangements for the visitors to have a darshan successfully. There is a huge Ganes Idol, pleasing to the eye. Apart from that there are also many other temples of various other deities on this vicinity.

Ganpati Temple Must See
Apr 2017 • Family
I heard about this temple from some of my local friends, so I was curious about this temple.

On one of my weekend, on the way to Kolhapur to Pune, we saw a side road towards Wai, so we decided to visit the temple, on the spot.

On the way to Wai off NH4, its nice green forest. But when we reached there, it was unexpected.

The temple is very nice. There are two temples one is Lord Ganesha, with huge statue and another is of Lord Shiva, looks one of the oldest temple.

Both the temples are well maintained, but the complex from outside is not maintained. The river just beside the temple is very dirty, people drop there all type of wastes there in the river, Some people wash clothes. some use the river as toilet.

I was very disappointed that day, that at one side we have started "Swach Bharat Abhiyaan" and at another side this one of the famous and oldest temple can not be maintained.

Peace giving temple of Lord Ganesh at Wai
Apr 2017 • Couples
I called my Maharashtrian friend to say hello from Wai - enroute Mahabaleshwar who strongly advised me to visit and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha at Wai temple. It is hardly 2 Kms into the city of Wai. It is on the banks of a river. Truly mesmerising !! Lord Ganesh's idol is big, very very big, never seen before. There are huge positive vibrations in and around and one must visit and seek blessings. Don't miss the next door Shiva's temple as well. Both temples are stated to be of 16th or 17th century...

Must see Ganpati Temple
Mar 2016 • Couples
We visited the Dholya Ganpati temple on our way to Mahabaleshwar. It is located in the city of Wai. It is just 3 km from the Wai Panchgani road. This makes it convenient to visit. The temple is located on the banks of the Krishna river.

The temple is famous for the Ganpati idol which is considered very holy. The architecture of the temple is really beautiful.

beautiful ganapati
Jan 2016 • Friends
on the banks of river Krishna (कृष्णा) and its temples, including especially the Dholya Ganapati temple on the Ganapati Ghat. It is one of the prime temples in Maharashtra and was built by Ganpatrao Raste in 1762. The Ganapati idol is carved out of monolith, and is about 10 ft tall and 8 ft wide. It has acquired its name - Dholya Ganapati (ढोल्या गणपती) - from its massive size.
