This temple is quite spectacular and by contrast with many other temples in China feels less commercial. Worth a visit.

Great landscaping, beautiful trees, flowers and ponds. Especially interesting waterfall grotto. Great weather, not too hot or cold. Many temples and statues, but natural beauty of the area was more impressive

More than 1500 years old, this place is really beautiful and peacefull.
The locals consider the ocidental people almost an attraction. An amazing experience.

We were lucky enough to be taken to The Grand Buddha Temple by our host whilst in Xinchang. Please ensure that you put the time by to fully appreciate the size of this attraction as in 3 to 4 Hours we only covered a 1/4 of the area, if that. It is very beautiful and centered around the spirituality of the area. There are many Temples to visit and beautiful scenery to wonder through. It was very busy as the local people have free access, again being westerners we were quite an attraction in our own right! It was really amazing and words can not put it into context. We have promised ourselves a return visit and plan to allow ourselves more time. I highly recommend you pay it a visit and experience the wonder of the Grand Budda Temple!
