Been loads of times. Lovely walk with the kids. Great to take dog. So many people enjoy fishing there. Can see loads of big fish. Lots of ducks and geese to feed

We moved into the area recently but only discovered the treasure that is Balderton Lake this spring! I am surprised at how little publicity it gets to attract visitors but it is a really nice place for all sorts of activities.

The lake and surrounding walk is easily accessible - just off Hawton Lane and about a minutes drive from London Road. Park in Catkin Way and the lake, the surrounding path and grassed area is right there. We love walking around it and a complete circuit takes just about 20mins. We see many joggers and runners who sometimes are doing multiple circuits. Lots of dog walkers as well. A lot of the pathway around the Lake is wheel chair friendly. Dotted around the lake are many fishing platforms and I believe that the lake was restocked with 1000's of carp a few years ago.

Did you want to take your kids? Along the eastern and northern shores are quite a few benches with tables suitable for picnics. Lots of other single benches as well all around. One problem is lack of other "comfort" facilities ie no toilets so go before you go! Also no cafes or the like but bring your own if picnicking.

The lake is a fair size and the local council have been approached to allow some canoeing and kayaking. I hope this happens as I feel the lake is under-utilised. I love walks that can combine peaceful surroundings, water, trees, a good walk with well maintained paths, birds and nature! Balderton Lake combines it all.

We really like this lake and regard it as an oasis of calm away from the town. A lot less busy than Devon and Sconce park as well!

A scenic walk around with plenty of wildlife and easy parking but no facilities. Ideal for a family walk picnic or cycle ride around the water, good for fishing too

Lovely place to take kids for a walk to feed the ducks. There used to be a pair of swans but they don't appear to be there anymore
