A really good trip up into the Blue mountains with the added bonus of a fabulous chair lift back down (5 lev extra) but worth it. Also included was a four corse meal and a tour of a typical old Bulgarian village. It was a long trip of eleven hours which was the only downside.

Took day trip by bus tour to Blue Mountains, seen how local Bulgarians life in the countryside.

Walking tour with guide to some local sites, church, and museums.

Had lunch in local house style restaurant.
Took cable car ride from Sinite Kamani to Sliven. Then had free time in Skiven before returning back to Sunny Beach.

Left Sunny Beach at 8am and arrived back at 6.30, price 55 levs per person, which included lunch. Cable car was extra 10 lev.

Went with Vangel Shimov, a local tour company.

It is a small, clean and quiet hotel; which is exactly what I wanted and needed. The rooms are outdated and looking a little tired and need maintenance, but as I wasn’t planning on spending too much time in my room, it suited my needs. I had a decent sized balcony and aircon and a fridge in my room. However, aircon was an additional charge, and I had no tv in my room(but it didn’t bother mean as I chose to read or watch my own movies on iPad.)
It was perfectly located, so bring a solo female it was ideal!
The breakfast was plain, but sufficient.
The staff were all very helpful throughout my stay(2weeks).

We took a day coach trip to Blue Mountains wich was excellent. We were had and English speaking guide, who really new her stuff and history of Bulgaria. We visited a village on the way which is now a heritage site and our guide explained how the inhabitants used to live etc. very interesting. We stopped at very nice cafes/restaurants along the way until we reached the Blue Mountains. The coach took us to the top of a thousand metre mountain where we had the choice of travelling back by coach or down the ski-lift. We went on the ski lift, (for me a white-knuckle ride as it was my first) which lasted about 20 minutes and cost the equivalent of about £5 - it was awesome.
Travelling back we called in at a crystal factory and were able to buy some Bulgarian glass-wear and also they had a room full of examples from imported glass wear. Beautiful stuff and we bought a Bulgarian vase and a bracelet at very cheap prices.

The coach was fully air-conditioned, clean and comfortable. The driver and courier were very helpful. So glad we went.

It was a long coach journey from Sunny Beach but at least we saw Bulgarian countryside. We stopped at a village and looked round a "rich house", a church, walked round the cobbled streets, had a drink and returned to the bus. A further stop for lunch in a cafe.
Then we reached Blue Mountain. The coach took us up, then the guide walked us down some steps and gave us the choice of going back with the bus driver or going in the lift.
We went in the lift. WOW!!!
What a view. Worth getting over my fear of heights.
My friend does have photos which I will need to put on later

Went on a trip with local travel agent from sunny beach. Visited mountains as part of that trip and went on the chairlift. It looks old but was one of the smoothest quietest rides we have experienced and more than worth 10lev. Would recommend giving it a go.

Visited Jheravna and Blue mountains as part of a package tour from Sunny Beach. Jheravna is pretty old town, we enjoyed our guided walk. The highlight of the trip was the blue mountain chair lift ride. It was a bit daunting getting on and off the chair lift but when you are on it, it's so peaceful and you get to see amazing views. We loved it. Worth booking.

We decided to go on the Blue Mountain day excursion. It was well worth the money and time. It is a fair distance on the bus but it is broken up with a break on the way then a stop in this tiny village in the mountains. I loved walking on the cobbled streets that felt like the true Bulgaria. The locals wonder around and are truly thankful for us coming to visit their village. I would recommend wearing sensible walking shoes as they streets are very uneven. We visited local house/Musuem and got to see how they lived years ago. Fascinating, simple and homely. We then went to the local Church. It is so colourful and beautiful inside. Lunch was had in a local resturant. The food was delicious. We enjoyed some entertainment and even some dancing. We then went off to head up the Blue Mountain. It was a steep climb and took about 45 minutes. Once at the top what an amazing view we had. We decided to go down the Chair Lift. THis was the highlight of the trip. The view was breathe taking. It was a beautiful warm and clear day. It took 20 minutes to head down on the chair lift and we captured this on our camcorder. It was so quiet coming down. You could hear a small river running down the mountain. Once at the bottom we walked to the Bus and headed into the Town. It was nice having a walk around and a sit down to take in all the scenery. I would say that this trip is a must and was certainly a highlight of our trip to Bulgaria.
