When we were in Lonawala we visited this place. One can reach the base of the fort and then take steps to reach the top. It takes about 30 mins to climb and one can spend about another 30 mins at the top. There is an entry ticket of Rs.25/- and a few eateries shop at the gate. Surprising the toilets are missing in the periphery and is a real challenge for the tourists. The steps are well maintained and the climb is easier compared to other forts where the path is raw and trekking is involved. On the top, there is a pond and a temple as well as Samadhi. The best part of the climb is i- it provides splendid views of the area - especially the Pawna lake and the surrounding fields. There are unused cannon on the path.

We four family members out of that three are ladies and we all are senior citizens, trekked the fort it is around 3400 ft.hight..we stepped the steps and reached to the top of the fort, we seen small pond, lake before we reached top, I think near Ganesh gate. The water was cool and clean. At the top ,there is Shiv temple, Bhavani mataji temple, Lake, and 360 degree view of the mountains nearby and also seen pawana \Bhusi dem...from the top of the fort. The steps on the top are very slippery so one has to be very careful, you must have time atleast 3-4 hours to spend there to see the nature beauty. If the government starts maintaining various steps and wall which are already damaged then many tourists can enjoy very well. Also, there is no First Aid treatment there or nearby so many tourists if they injured due to slippery steps, they fell down there is no medical aid is available there , which is required must.Otherwise it is very nice place to enjoy for trekking and nature beauty.

A must watch place with kids. Good trek with family. A lot of scenic view and cool breeze till the main door of the Fort. After that steps are not in good condition. Amazing view of Pawana Dam and all other area. A worth trip.
Be careful if you driving from Karla to Bhaja cave to Lohgad .
Its Steep Zigzag road hence all the new driver please do not attempt to drive unless you have skilled driver right next to you. Its only one car drive hence try to go via alternate route (Dudhiware khind)
Comparatively road from Dudhiware khind road to Lohad and back to Lonavala or Pune is comparative good and has less steep zigzag uphill curves. Its comparatively two vehicle passing road. And only problem is that road condition not good

Try to reach in the morning to start your trek and to be back after enjoying sunset. It is good one day trek surrounded by beautiful view and natural beauty. On the top you find Temple and awesome views. Good for photography lovers. You can enjoy the 360 degree views of surrounding places. Be careful while trekking as the steps near the top are very slippery specially during the rainy season. Spend some time at the top and enjoy. No facility is available at this place so be careful of any fall .

If you love trekking and if you are into historical places, then it is recommended. Not at all a place to chill out and relax, because you need to trek a little to reach. No information about the fort is available there. So grab all info from wiki, if you want to know about the fort and its history.

This fort reminds the times of chatrapati Shivaji. Though only ruins are remaining but visiting this place was a good experience. you can see ancient GUNs (Tops). Stairs inside the fort ,are not in good condition so one has to be careful.

If you want to go to some different location then its a place worth to go there. It is the fort of ancient time---you can say shivaji maharaj's time. It is at good height. Here you can order non-vej or anything to the villagers with very reasonable rate..and tasty too!!......and if you really want to go at some different place then its worth place to go!

Visited on 19th July 2015. It was crowded. If you have your car, you can drive upto the bottom of the fort where the steps to the top start. It takes not more than 30 mins to climb these steps to top, if you go continuously. But people usually take photographs on the way. There were many families with kids and even with old people climbing to the top. The view from the top is awesome. You will get vada-pav and tea at top. Worth a go.
Tip:
1) Carry water and snacks.
2) Beware of monkeys on the way. They can snatch eatables if holding in hands. Keep eatables in the bag.

The fort looks fabulous from ground level
A simple trek will take you to the top from where you have a fantastic 360°view which is mesmerising.
Though there is nothing but ruins of the fort on the top and a tomb. The walls and entrance gates withstood the onslaughts of time. Can be reached by car and a simple trek.

Avoid it, might be too much to reach the top and it is not so safe as people say

Is it possible to complete both Visapur and Lohagad fort in single day??

Pune, India5 contributions
Yes. Probably if you start early and take your vehicle as much higher as it is possible ( considering the traffic and weather) , then you can spend time on both the forts.
But again it will depend upon how much time you take to trek. You can complete the Lohgad by 1pm and then visit visapur.
We are planning to go to visapur fort.where we can park our car? Is there any official parking area so i can be assured that no one will harm our vehicle?

erickwcs
Curitiba, PR406 contributions
There is a charge to go up to the fort not.... 25 ruppes for indian citizens, 300 for foreigners.
This charge is converted into: someone's pocket, because the place is still unsafe and full of trash
