Set up on a hillock this place takes you to the olden days and tells you how the people used to live in those days. A guided tour for a mere Rs.40/- per person (adults) should not be missed if you are in Ganpatipule. The Guides are young girls with excellent narration of the Konkan lifestyles are to be commended. A must visit site for young children as well as for we adults. There is a canteen on top of the hillock that serves good vegetarian meal. AN INTERESTING PLACE

At a walking distance from the Ganapatipule beach, this museum draws lots of visitors. Once inside, you are taken on a guided tour of a simulated Konkani village with clay and wooden models depicting the traditional Konkani way of life. The guides are helpful as they are always ready to satisfy your various queries.

This is a great attempt to model the Konkani culture and lifestyle of years gone by. Lifes style displays of people in action doing their daily routines along with household artifacts and tools of trade. Visits is through guides tour only, which bring these displays to life with their interesting narrations. Guide tour enrich the knowledge about the whole konkan region of Maharashtra. Kids enjoy watching the life size sculptures and the heavy canopy of trees manifest a variety of bird species. It is must visit for those who are are looking for something interesting other than temples and beaches in Konkan, It remind us to how simple life was with basic needs addressed in the village. This place is an ideal and good place for families, couples, children as well as friends. All this at a reasonable rate of 40/- per adult with a guide. Food is also available inside restaurant on payment basis, which was good.
