Group of caves crafted on the bank of Kodjai river. This place is surrounded by dense jungle. One can reach to this ancient architecture thru Dapoli - Dabhol road via Male village. Do not take Nante village road which is very worst for vehicle.
The caves are of Buddhist period and is not that popular. Though a very small place which is around 30 KMS from Dapoli which makes it lesser known to tourists, the place is a must visit for history lovers.
We were very keen on visiting this place when we read about these caves that were constructed in the 3rd century AD...and discovered only in 1970 - that is, 1600 years later!
