I've been to La Cumbrecita many times and I know the place very well. Cascada Escondida, Cascada Grande are better places to go.

Do wear shoes with traction for safety.
The 20 minute dirt path and large stones surrounding the pond with a small waterfall makes it an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic.

My entire family enjoyed La Olla so much! We went with my parents who are in their mid 70’s as well as my children who range in ages from 5 to 14. I couldn’t believe how much my 14 year old enjoyed it! He was climbing all the rocks and taking pictures galore. The smaller kids loved it as expected. While the water might be too cold for some, my children really enjoyed it on this hot summer day.

Like what our tour guide said, everybody’s in La Olla. It was very crowded so I left after 2 minutes. I didn’t bother to take a photo no more.

It is a nice walk from town. There are stairs so be careful but the spot is nice and very close to the Lago de las Truchas

Very nice place but be very careful and choose your shoes wisely. Flippers are certainly a good choice but we saw then on lot of people including parents with little children.

It is beautiful but with many people in high season. Remember that Argentines are shouting a lot so nothing to rest. Just get wet and see people.

It was an easy walk here and although the weather was amazing, it was only in the low 20s. Nevertheless, there were a lot of people and it is not a huge space. I would imagine in summer this place would be packed and I would suggest getting there early. Not a peaceful place, because of its popularity but lovely nonetheless.

Beautiful spot for a picnic, or just to relax on a rock and listen to the running water. We even found a way round the pond and stepped down on the rocks further down getting beautiful views of the spot, up and down the water course, including mini cascades.
