If you are looking to travel to Socotra, then I recommend you to book with Adnan who owns Socotra Trek Tours.

Adnan is very reliable and his tour company organizes the visas, flights and the program to Socotra whereas other tours require you to still book and pay separately for your own flight to Socotra. I suggest you to make contact with Adnan directly through WhatsApp when you are planning your trip. Despite bad internet on the island, Adnan is very responsive and trustworthy in answering questions and guiding you on the preparation for your visit.

Our tour guide, Fehti and driver, Hussein were excellent during our week long visit. They provided three full meals, tea, bottled water and snacks throughout the day. Most of our camping sites had showers and bathrooms and the gear (e.g. tent, mattress, pillow) provided. I would recommend bringing good water shoes and electrolyte tablets as the sea is a bit rough and the sun is strong. Also, there are many adorable kids throughout the island who want to meet you. I brought little packs of fun stickers which they enjoyed and were easy to carry in my bag. Lastly, a good head lamp and power bank since it gets dark on the island around 5:30pm. We were still able to charge phones and such in the car, but good to have backup power.

The tour was amazing! Now is the moment to visit Socotra as more and more tourist groups are coming and the island is evolving. The Dragon Blood tree forest, the white sandy beaches with nearby spinner dolphins, and famous cave hike were a few of my highlights and best memories. I also recommend if you can be in a smaller group that is best as it gives you more flexibility in building your program with the guide and driver.

All in all, a once in a lifetime trip that is best planned with Adnan and Socotra Trek tours given their trustworthiness, reliability and value for money in creating a unique experience unlike the other tour groups.

Excellent under all points of view. The staff went above and beyond to accomodate all my requests and needs from a day out fishing to an extra day on the Dixon plateau. Loved my guides, their attitude, and their professional and honest interactions. If an authentic adventure is what you are looking please don't hesitate to contact them.

Perfectly organized tour with Socotra Trek, from start to finish. We communicated with Adnan, and trusted him based on his previous reviews. The organization process must be based on trust, given that you must wire a substantial amount of money to a country with which is in a state of war, practically. Communication is also hampered by extremely bad network on the island, so Adnan had trouble uploading our visas and tickets to us, and all we had were screen shots. We were worried that this would not be enough to check in at Abu Dhabi, and the process of checking in on that flight is long and complicated. However, all went well and we were off to our adventure. It is impossible to say what we loved the most, but it was one amazing discovery after another. On Dixam plateau the female tourists were invited to drink tea with local girls, and that was perhaps the most wonderful experience on the trip.
The food cooked by our guide Kamal was fantastic, we don't eat meat, so he always had some new fish for us to try, cooked in various spices, and always with rice and stew, all very interesting and tasty.
The camp sites will remain in our memory as some of the most beautiful places we have ever had the privilege of waking up to, as will the hikes to the natural swimming pools with crystal waters, and dragon trees.
There is rapid construction taking place on the island and it will not be long before first hotels appear on the still untouched beaches, so if you want to see it before that happens, go now. It is perfectly safe, and you will be well taken care of by Adnan, Adam, and Kamal. Totally recommended to all, kids included.

This was my first time in Socotra Island and definitely not the last one.
As soon as arriving, I just fell in love with this place. So lucky to choose Socotra Trek Tours as my tour agent. Adnan and his team offered the best tour and food along the trip.
Fathi was one of the best tour guides I’ve never met. Along with the well experienced car driver were so hospitable, patient, and took care of us. Fathi explained the sightseeing places in details and answered all the questions we asked. Most importantly, he was very flexible and gave us time to shoot professional photos and videos!!

We not only got impressive memory in our mind for Socotra Island but also the best photos that can be kept forever!!

I have already been to 69 countries and Socotra Island was the best trip of my life.
Incredible beaches with white sand and crystal blue waters, transparency and rich underwater life, amazing weird landscapes and nature and lovely local people!!
Thank you so much the whole team of Socotra Treck that made our visit so memorable!!
Already planning my second visit there.
Needless to Say, Socotra Trek Tours is a local agency and Adnan a local guide.
Booking with them directly, you skip commissions and you have better price comparing to other companies!!
Highly recommended!!

All worked out. No hesitation booking here. I transfered the money per western union for the flight and visa and paied the rest in cash (Us $) when I arrived. Great tour. Don`t expect luxes, but that might be obvious.

For me the onyl annoying part was that a few days before I left I got booked in Hotel at the start and end and the price increased by 100$

It's hard to understate how great this trip was. Socotra was the most beautiful and absurdly landscape-dense place I've ever visited. And this was the best tour I've taken in my life. And I say this as someone who likes to think they're a pretty experienced traveler - I've spent 31 weeks traveling around the world this past year alone.

Fethi (my guide) and Ali (my driver) were both excellent. They were able to provide lots of details on the places we went and were quite flexible in my itinerary based on my preferences. They also adjusted the itinerary to minimize the number of other tourists we would encounter during our visits to different locations. We visited some of the most beautiful places on the island practically by ourselves (which talking to other tour groups was not the case).

The only caveat is Socotra really is not a destination for everyone (regardless of the tour operator you use) . You'll be camping for 6- 7 nights and not every campsite will have access to fresh water to bathe. And you'll occasionally be using the outdoors as your toilet. Also echoing another review, I had some initial difficulties coordinating my schedule with Adnan, but after visiting the island and experiencing how sparse the Internet reception is, I could see why I wasn't always getting prompt responses to my WhatsApp messages.

I can fully recommend Socotra Trek Tours. The owner, Adnan, is a very polite and friendly person. He organized my visa, flight ticket and tour. I was worried to transfer a large amount of money by Western Union for the visa and flight. However, everything worked well. After I paid, Adnan sent me the visa copy and flight ticket. He is a reliable person.

The price of the tour is reasonable. All accommodation, transport, tour guide, drinks and three meals per day are included in the price. There were only 3 travelers plus 1 driver per jeep which is very good as everyone can get a window seat. The tents are 1-person tents for single travelers and double tents for couples. So you do not need to share a tent.

Socotra is amazing and definitely worth a visit. I had a great time.

I went to Socotra beginning November 2023 and had booked my tour directly with Adnan Alnooby avoiding european tour operators, witch would have blasted the bill. Adnan organised everything perfectly- flight, visa, pick up, guide, camel, trecking tour...... I missed nothing. As my family does not track, I went alone and was alone with the guide, which was great, as I could go at my speed. Adnan gave me a great guide named Nasseb. We trecked through the montains from the north to south with a camel and it was fantastic, with lots of changing landscapes, sometimes solitude, other times more people around, forests, wadis, deserted areas, rivers, .... and the ocean at the end. We mainly camped wild and cooked on the open fire. Bedtime was early and waking up too. Nesseb and some other local guides are socroti and teached me a lot about the island, their people and traditions. At the end we did some days touring by car to some nice spots, which was nice too, but my favorite stays the trecking part trough the montains. Thanks Adnan

Socotra Trek Tours organised in collaboration with Berlin-based Rocky Road Travel my private tour in Socotra between 26th April and 3rd May 2021. The tour was set up in a fast and efficient way. I had the unique chance to experience the local culture and nature. I would like to thank all people involved: Adnan Elnooby, owner of Socotra Trek Tours. Adnan Elamary, my knowledgeable highly educated tour guide. Yahia, my driver with the right skills to cope with bumpy rocky roads. Finally, special thanks to Shane Horan of Rocky Road Travel who arranged my private trip to Socotra in collaboration with Socotra Trek Tours. Thank you all for contributing to a memorable unique travelling experience, in particular during these difficult covid circumstances for travelling.

Great guys! They will do absolutely everything they can to adjust the tour to your needs and make you feel welcome. In my case I was most interested in taking photos and had worked out a schedule that would allow me to maximize the number of sunrises and sunsets at certain photo spots. They were very accomodating and never refused to get up at 4am with me to drive me. If you want adjustments to the day you arrive make sure to tell them in advance because otherwise they will only have the tents ready to go the next morning so your first night will be in a hotel in the capital.
