It was a communal house for the nearby community and easily found. It was interesting for us when we stepped in to take a closer look on the house structure. Please be advised that the house is still in use, so no exhibition for visitors to explore. A suspension bridge is right next to the house, worth a walk to visit it.

If you go to Vietnam, I highly recommend KonTum and go around the city. You can find a lot of minority villages like Kon Klor. You can rent a motorbike and go alone. You will feel at home! Everybody will ask you to stop and spend some moments with them. You must go!

Walk or cab to village and simply wander at will. Interesting and educational. Check out the Rong house. This is doable on your own, or get a guide if you want more info about the village.

A place to visit when you come here. A place to preserve the cultural heritage of Vietnam's mountainous people

I visited the Kon Plor Suspension Bridge and on returning to the Konclor Hotel I was told by the proprietor that the structure which I passed was what is called a "rong". They are built on stilts with a platform and entrance at either end. The interior is made of bamboo and the roof is thatched. It appeared to be very high indeed. The ring is used for celebrations and meetings in the village and in the past had been used as a Court.

Just out of Kon Tum near the village of Kon Klor you can visit a Rong house. Right next to the 'beautiful bridge' this is an example of the housing of the traditional inhabitants of the Central Highlands. Unfortunately there isn't much to see. You are able to climb up the slim ladder and look inside, however the interior does not really reflect montagnard living. It's more a 'shrine' to communism, with many portraits of Marx, Lenin and of course Ho Chi Minh.Stop for 15 minutes to snap a photo or two.

People find it easy to relax if you get the chance to come here! You may get the chance to learn more about the local community here in Kon Tum and the special Nha Rong of their Community. I was lucky that day because they are so friendly with me during I stay there. I would highly recommend this place if you pass by Kon Tum.
