We stopped here and I wouldn't do it again. It was February and the gardens were not optimal. The place was closed and the people generally unwelcoming. A priest actually ran us off.

The Bishop of Kontum’s Building quite simply put, it is a beautiful mansion. Such a building stands out in the Central Highland region of Kontum & either suggests that the Bishop’s diocese was rich back in the day, he used to roll in cash or the French Bishop who built it had expensive taste, either way he musta been a playa cos no one around there not even the local communist officials today live in such a lavish looking house.
The driveway off the main street is lined by rows of mature fruit trees (longans) & ferns leading to the main building which upon first impression looks like a European alpine mansion with dark wooden beams & carved fittings. The European style staircase may have been built to intimidate visitors before they met the Bishop of Kontum.
The Catholic Seminary houses mostly ethnic hill tribe students who have been taken in by the Church & are given a chance of a much better lifestyle as a priest. It is the only organisation that can challenge the authority & prestige of the communist Party, who do much less for the hill tribes in terms of social support.
The Office of the Bishop of Kontum is currently occupied by Bishop Michael Hoang Duc Oanh whom I met & who showed us around the Seminary & hill tribe museum. For such a lavish looking building I was expecting to meet a black guy with gold rings, chains & fur coat but I was mistaken, he wears robes & a pointy hat.
Dont be shy to visit theres no fee, greet the guards & ask to look around, while ur there u may as well try ur luck & ask to see the Bishop himself.

We were so blessed to visit this seminary with Fr Quynh who started his journey to priesthood here. We visited the museum and grounds which were awesome but we also got to visit the classrooms and talk to the men studying here. It was amazing!

French influence evident in this beautiful building. Suspect it had the same architect as the church.

This building turned out to feature a very information dense and interactive museum display room. There were impressive wooden carvings and instruments that could be played. there are lots of great opportunities for taking photos.

On the left side of the building, there was a garden lined with two rows of large stones. Look closely, and you realized that they were abstract sculptures of saints.

The Bishop's house is a work of art, mainly built of wood and flanked by huge garden's on all sides. It tells a lot about the history of the place and the formative years of Christianity in the Central Regions.

It's a bit east of where it's on the map. People have weddings here, but don't photograph them and don't go beyond the front gardens.
Beautiful western style building. A little paradise.

A quiet place to visit and relax in an isolated property, with benches and a small park with sculptures.
