Awesome and less explored part of Ladakh
Dec 2018
Located almost 15 km from Diskit, near Panamik village, this is a very beautiful and secluded attraction, though I won't say its a must-visit place if you are around Panamik or Nubra and got some extra time, then do make a plan. It's a small lake, with an associated story of a monk (best heard from locals only). We visited during December when the air was freezing cold and also the lake was rock frozen, there was not a single soul expect we four friends, we enjoyed Cup noodles beside the lake, cooked on our Butane Stove.

holy lake

Lake declared holy and visited by the Dalai Lama.
We didn't see the special reflections of pagodas and other images one would be able to see on the water surface because there was to much wind

Sacred Lake For The Ladakhis
Jun 2018 • Couples
This pretty lake is situated some 15 kms from Diskit in the Nubra Valley of the Ladakh. It is a high altitude lake that is hidden in the Sumur Village and can only be reached by trekking, though it is possible to reach this holy lake by foot from Panamik Village,

Picturesque And Serene!!
Jun 2018
Situated around 15 kms from Diskit in the Nubra valley, Yarab Tso Lake makes it home in the serene surroundings of Sumur village. Truly captivating is the sight of this lake which can be seen after a hike of around 20 mins uphill from Panamaik village. Yarab Tso lake is one of the holiest high altitude lakes in the Nubra valley. The presence of crystal clear fresh water in the lake underneath the rocky and barren terrain flashes the enchanting picture of its surroundings, making the view very picturesque.

Hidden away sacred lake
Sep 2018 • Friends
Yarab Tso is a sacred lake and one should not try and enter it or use it for washing. It is fed by an underground spring. We were in our way back from Panamik and had to go off the road for a short distance till the sand. We had to stop the car a little further than normal as there had been a recent flooding of the area. It was about a 15 min walk in the hot sun up a little hill and down to the lake. It is not a big lake at all.

Beautiful and gorgeous little lake in the middle of no where. Lovely little hike and you reach this wonderful lake. Since it is a sacred lake, please do not swim or camp around here, though you wouldn't be able to resist it.

Fantastic day out
Jul 2017 • Couples
This is a must see spot even though it requires a bit off offroading and then a walk. Yarab Tso lake is one of the holiest and high altitude lakes in and around Nubra valley. The water in the lake comes from an underground spring. As you walk towards the lake and back you will see a lot stupas made by the visitors with little rocks

Yarab Tso lake is one of the holiest and high altitude lakes in Nubra valley. The water in the lake comes from an underground spring. Wishes made here are said to come true if one of pure heart makes one. One little unknown thing about this amazing place is that you can see a reflection of a monastery in the water from a particular angle. hence it is also called the "lost monastery".The walk from the vehicle to the lake edge is a 10 min at a slow pace. Dont forget to make your own "Chorten" or stupa having minimum 7 stones, you will see number of these which other travellers before you made.I personally like to collect unique shaped stones from this place have around 7 to 8 of them, each a mark of the number of times i have visited this location.
