Manimahesh Lake
Sep 2018 • Friends
A must visit place for both adventure lovers and nature lovers. A very difficult trek of medium level for approx 13-14 kms. Incidentally we visited on the day of some auspicious day and the place was full.Plus rain in the lower areas all along and snow fall at the top only compounded the problems as the route is common for both ponies and people. Since there is no pucca road and only soil which will wash away with rain. But the location is pure bliss.

Manimahesh Lake
Nov 2017
It is around 98 km from Chamba circuit, height 4183 meter, is a pristine lake where pilgrims make an annual trek to in August September to bathe in its icy waters. It is one of the most beautiful natural places in India.

Spiritual but Also risk in raining
Aug 2018 • Couples
Its my second visit. For my wife its her first visit. I know where to stay. I stayed near bharmaur bus stand for Rs.300/- attached bathroom with geezer. Next day early morning i started my journey to hadsar on bullet. I know its very hard trek last time it took 13 hours to complete my trek. This time i booked two horse. Due to little rain trek is bit slippery and risky took. On horses it took 7 hours to reach the top. Weather is very bad on the top. Kailash is totally covered by the fog. Very disappointed for us. I check lakes temp with north range 1 watch believe me water is near -1*. My wife didnt take bath however there is seprate place for ladies. I decided to take some shower. I bath with only one bucket. Oh my god my whole body start shivering with that icy cild water. I bring some warm clothes too becz i knew abt temp. I also faced some oxygen problem too like last time i faced. After spending one hour the lake scenery is clear due to fog. But kailash top is still covered with fog. We saw kailash and prey to lord to clear the weather but its still foggy. We decided to walk on feet to reach hadsar. On thing is very imp. clear all things with the owner of horses before booking. He started arguing me about money on top. I know some shopkeeper there becz last time i spend two nights on top. They helped me. After 4 hrs its 6:30 pm i am very tired i stayed at night before Dhanchoo. Rain has been started till 3:00 am. I started early morning at 4 am with torch. Trek has been damaged due to rain. Before 2 kms again land slide happend in front of our eyes. We are very very scared. We crossed that thing. We reached 8:00 am in hadsar. After reaching hadsar we came to know that a shopkeer aged 22 died due to land slide. Very very disturbing news for us. We thanks to God that we safely reached hadsar. On 7 aug the trek has been closed for 4-5 hours. Rain again started from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Bharmani Mata road also been damaged due to land slide. We were unable to reached there. At bharmaur in the noon we came to know that locals bring the dead body at bharmaur. I advised you to guys plz do not started trekking when its raining. It doesnt matter how experienced you are. With god grace with safely reached home on our bullet. Its very good experience for us. Last time i prey to Shiva that i want to visit here with my wife. My wish was filled i am very happy but also bit sad for that boy too. I didnt know him who he was. But still i am bit distrubbed. God bless you all. Bring some warm clothes, rain coat, dry fruit, gulucose, apples, and umbrella. You medicines for safety like for womiting, loose motion, body pain. All the best guys. Jai Bhole

Can we plan ManiMahesh trek in July End?

You will have to check with local authorities if the yatra is open. Since its also have some auspicious dates for the hol dip in the lake, so better check the desi panchang to avoid the rushes. The yatra period is usually of short duration ranging from 15-25 days only in a calender year.

Officially yatra will start from 2 sept. to Oct dont worry. Everything will be available there. Another imp thing is mostly weather will be cleared in sept. at manimahesh. Only kailash will covered with snow. No snow at all on the way. This year glacier (before Gauri kund) was also not covered with snow. All the best.

Is it ok to travel with kid of age 10.

If you and your kid both are stong mentally and physically you will enjoy. It is tough track Due to height oxygen lack is also a problem. Weather is also to be considered. But one who can withstand the circumstances can get victory. We ware with people having knee problem and diabetes they also climbed successfully .All the best
