One of the Oldest temple in Chamba, It was built by Raja Verman.

Building made with the stones and wooden architecture is awesome and unique.

Temple is just on walk able distance from the Chamba Chowgan and From bus stand as well.

We visited Chamba town from Dalhousie on 01.07.2016. Chamba has been a small kindom of Himachal Pradesh. The name chamba has been derived from the name of Champavati, daughter of erstwhile king Sri Sahil Varma. He made this place as his capital on Bank of Ravi river in 980 AD.
After that this complex of temples in wood and stones has been developed by several kings and called complexes of temples of Lord Vishnu,Shiva and others
The temples are located on a small hillock and you have to park your car in Maidan and climb through narrow market from Sabji Mandi and then cross Dogra Market. The market it self is eye catching.
Once you reach the temple you will find a temple complex with stones and beautiful carving ,built in several phases.
The entire complex is very neat and clean and you will really have some peace of mind after visiting these temples.
The complex have also a small museum depicting the history of chamba kings and history of temples through photographs and paintings. Visit this small museum also

If you r in chamba a visit is must to this temple. Very nice statue of laxminarayan (sri krishna). The construction type of temple is very nice and is made of stones. There should be proper information available which can give us more idea about the history of it.

LakshmiNath temple complex consists of group of temples older ones dating back to 10th century. The complex mainly has a lakshminath temple having a huge idol of Vishnu.Another GauriShankar temple has a beautiful idol of goddess Gauri and lord Shiva installed in about 13th century in an older temple.
The complex also has an art museum chronicling the history of Chamba and a library housing old manuscripts.A memorable lifetime experience.

This is another must to visit place on your Himachal Pradesh itinerary. This place is near Khajjiar meadows. So if you are visiting khajjiar, you may want to visit this place too. This temple complex has total 7 temples. All the temples are in good condition. The carving and sculpture on the temples is exquisite! Beautiful Ravi river flows near these temples. You can sit on the banks of Ravi, relax and listen to it’s beautiful music for hours.

It's the oldest and most famous temple in Chamba.
The structure of the Temple is quite similar with the structure of Kedarnath Temple. If traveling Chamba do visit Laxmi Narayan Temple.

Situated at walking distance from the public parking at the centre of Chamba town,is the historical Laxminath(Laxminarayan) temple. There are a number of temples in the premises, but the main temple is dedicated to Laxminath, that is Lord Vishnu. The temples are uilt in typical Himalayan style,in stone.Although they are not intricately carved, they are clean and well maintained. The idols are beautiful , and the temples,in the background of mighty Himalayas look very good. It is certainly worth a visit.
