Looking at it one can easily guess that it was once most beautiful in past. Not now. The lake is now dirty and devoid of water. Locals say that forest department and PWD are involved in bad politics regarding the revival of the lake. Result: the lake is ruined.

The 360 degree deodar will just tempt you to enjoy..
You may enjoy paragliding or bubble games or just roam about... we went in January2021. So we got lots of fresh snow in front of Khajji cottage..

In the lap of Himalaya, Khajjiar is the heart of Almighty. It is beautifully surrounded by green lush mountains, snows, freshwater lake, and high rise mountains. Kala Top, Khajjiar Lake, and Kailash Villages are the places in Khajjiar that can fascinate any travelers and tourists across the world.
We spent 3 days in the hill station “Khajjiar.” It attracts and enthralls us with blissful beauty, adventure activities and a panoramic view.

Scenic place, surrounded by trees and 1.5 hours drive from Dalhousie. We visited in Nov 2020; weather was superb and kept shifting gears from sunny to cloudy to windy. Nice place to sit and do nothing; relax , play with your kids and enjoy in lap of mother nature . This place is big ( 10 cricket stadiums or more may be ) ; one can enjoy horse ride outside the ground ; there are stalls inside ground as well as outside ground.

Its more like a park; which is situated in middle of hills surrounded by trees. It was clean and well maintained. One can spend 2- 3 hours or even more depending on what season you visit . If it is winters ; you will not feel like leaving the place if sun is out and shining !!!! Nature at its best .

The lake word does not suits in Khajjar as it is shrinked into a small dirty water storage place.Add to this people throws all the garbage here making it more filthy. Kahajjar is about 23 kms from Dalhousie and will take less than 1 hour to reach. Try to go in morning time as many tourists are going late and the place got crowded and there is also no decent restaurant for lunch. So if you go by 9 am then you can cover Khajjar & Dainkund and come to Dalhousie by 2 pm,depending on the time you spent at Khajjar.T here is no structure/building/park there, just an open lush green field surrounded by trees but you will definitely spent at least 2 hours here. You can just seat, mediate, play and do adventure sports activities.it will make you happy and you wish to stay more here.

It is 2 hrs travel from Dalhousie. Mostly people take a day trip and come back to Dalhousie in the evening. At lake itself there are two or three average hotels which can be booked through Make my Trip. It is a picturesque and cool place but the road to dalhousie is very narrow. It is better to avoid your own car . it is better to come by taxi.

Well, I've had a trip to Khajjiar on 15th Aug 2019 along with my friend.
I was told to must visit this place.
Visited the Khajjiar lake and found that this place is actually the mini Switzerland.
This place actually gives a felling that INDIA is diverse and perfectly fits with "Incredible India".

Dear viewer,

I went to khajjiar for peaceful time with my wife.
I stayed there in sine Star hotel for two days .I came from Delhi and reached to chamba in evening..
There is no other vehicle options after 4:00 pm to go to khajjiar , finally I got inside the last bus which was going to khajjiar..very crowded..
We have done 20 km ride and suddenly we saw slow ice rain there and peaks we're fully black and white with clouds ..

I can't forgot,very peaceful and amazing view .

Now this was the time when bus was sliding on the road and very generous time ,for a second I feared..
And we were only 10-15 peoples in the bus ..bus driver had stopped the bus before 2 km to the destination..

Me and my wife decided to get a text but there was no texi and now everyone was on their foot..ice fall was very slightly different from a rain ..we have a wheel based bags was very helpful to move the luggage..

I can't forgot that time ,I was free of tensions no official work tensions no other issue ..and finally we reached to the lake ...fully covered with ice and devdaar 🌲 trees around that lake were also covered with ice ..

December is the best time to have enjoyed...
