Bimbisar was jailed by his son Ajatsatru for bring over serving Buddhist fraternity. Ajatsatru had allegiance with Jainism. When Ajatsatru was ready to release him, Bimbisar thought his son was to execute him. Hence he committed suicide in jail before he could be released. He chose this place for his imprisonment so that he could constantly see one mount dedicated to Mahavir and another mount dedicated to Buddha.

Jail for a King
Oct 2018 • Couples
The story goes that King Bimbisara was imprisoned here by his son for lust for power. The King apparently had embraced Buddhism so completely that he submitted to this and chose a place closer to the hill where Gautama Buddha travelled everyday, so that he could watch him from his prison cell. Finally when the remorseful son realised his mistake and came to free his father , he was already gone to his maker. There is nothing left to see though and you may give this a miss or just take a whistle stop.

Great view of the Shanti Stupa from here. Situated at the heart of 5 mountains this place is a one time visit place.
Met a man here named 'Nandlaal Verma'. He is a local guide who is working there from past 32 years! He told us about the history of this place and what all happened at that place.
It's just beside the gate of Vishwa Shanti Stupa, don't miss this place.

Nothing archeologically important. Just a belief and myth for tourists. A small wall made out of rubble. Need not waste your time.

Forgotten Place
Jul 2017 • Couples
The place is as old as India's history with places showing marks to be linked to Mahabharata. Irony is that we do not take pride in our own history. Just imagine how people in those olden times created this not heritage place. Just great

Bimbisar Jail
Feb 2017 • Family
Though a great place with historical importance but poorly maintained. This place once was a jail where Bimbisar was jailed by his son Ajatsatru. Now only barren land is there with a boundary wall.
