The Martyr Lachit Borphookan
Sep 2015 • Family
When you will visit this Moidam you will come across the great hero of Assam. A meuseum is there in its architecture design is very attractive. Having a statue of Bir Lachit Borphookan amid a garden adjacent to his Moidam (burial ground). This place is situated off the NH 37 near Jorhat. The place is very nice and parking area is available.
Its is a trip for 2hours and you can return for other activities to jorhat or visit another tourist attraction : DHEKIAKHOWA BORNAGHAR" near by.

Its a few kilometers away from Jorhat city, located nearby the high way to sivsagar, on the way to Sivsagar. The place is well maintained. Worth a vist. Lachit Barphukan was the commander of Army of Ahom kingdom, which have defeated the Mughals 17 times. His leadership qualities and stories of courage and patriotism, have widespread respect in Assamese society.

Greatest commander and Borphukan in the Ahom kingdom Maidam
May 2014 • Family
The famous and greatest commander, Borphukan of Ahom kingdom was laid into rest, here, about 8 kms far from the famous Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, near Jorhat towards Sibsagar. Here last remains of Borphukan were laid under this tomb (Maidam) constructed by Swargadeo Udayaditya Singha in 1672.

A worth place to visit and pay great respect to Ahom commander.
