It's an hour-long boat ride to get here, but so worth it. We booked a private tour so we could have a secluded spot to ourselves, but that didn't happen. Be sure to talk with your tour operator on exactly what is expected! Aside from that, the lagoon is amazing, all shades of blue, with baby sharks cruising the shallow waters.

Amazing tour! Very well organized. The driver was fantastic and Claude was special! Food was delicious.
All made by their mother or grandma. The coconut bread was just superb! You will get a good feel of the locals.
Definitely book it if you are in Rangiroa. It's the best way to see the island on the water.

If you are here..go there..nice day trip. We did it with Orava excursion. It was a beautiful, relaxed day with great fun and food and snorkeling with sharks and fish as many as you never have seen

This was by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Every picture we took looked like a photo-shopped postcard except it was real! This attraction is part of an excursion from the hotels. It is a lagoon within the lagoon of Rangiroa. This is not a place for snorkeling, but instead for swimming/walking in crystal blue shallow water. If you stay on the edge where it is more shallow you could walk between the motus. There were baby black tip sharks and mulletfish in the water with you and there were lots of baby sea cucumbers. The water was incredibly calm and beautiful. There was a BBQ on the deserted island, then more time in the water. The snorkeling came later. As you leave the blue lagoon, they stop in the pass and feed the sharks in front of you while in the water. It was a feeding frenzy! After more than half the boat ride back they stop in a pass to let you drift snorkel. What a great excursion! Rae and Juana (sp?) were the nicest and funniest tour guides ever!

The blue Lagoon is one of the best and most known exotic spots on Earth, so no need to spend more words:if you visit the Tuamotu, you should not miss it. Just make sure that the sea is quite calm (or you will get wet and shaky on your way back) and to pay no more than 9000 XPF for a 8 hours tour (including the visit to an old marae and pass snorkeling on the way back). All the tours offer similar program, difficult to indicate who gives the best value for money... just choose and go!

I don't know if this was the company we went with but it was fantastic. The BEST snorkel I have ever been on – NOT the prettiest, just the best. The coral is nothing to look at but the amount and variety of sealife was fantastic. We saw Trumpet fish, Surgeon fish, Queen Angel, black tip Reef Sharks, Triggerfish, Emperor Angelfish, Parrotfish, Unicornfish and numerousWrasses. Two sharks were swimming RIGHT at me, but then turned away at about 25-30 feet. It seemed much closer! WE probably saw about 10 to 15 sharks, mostly swimming right on top of the reef, in about 10-15 feet of water. My highlight was a 8 to 10 foot Yellow Margin Moray Eel free swimming through the coral heads. I followed it for about 2 minutes until it swam into a cavern in the bottom of the coral. About 12 inches of its tail was still hanging out. After the snorkel we boated out to see the dolphins catching waves and riding them into the pass. A very enjoyable experience.

The landscape is amazing, you can relax in the tiny islands, swim and look at the black tip sharks. After lunch we went snorkeling with lemon sharks and afterwards to another snorkeling point. Drink a lot of water!!!

We took a trip to the Blue Lagoon as everyone said to do. The blue lagoon is a very beautiful place and so quiet. You must appreciate natural beauty to go on this trip. Cant say much other than what others have said, it is just a place you need to see. The trip did get a little long and the hour boat ride can be rough, but well worth the trip

Who can pass up a little excursion to an uninhabited tropical island? Our guide was Hugo and he was a very nice guy. Took awhile to get across the lagoon (2nd largest in the world) but the island was very pretty. There were about 5-6 other couples on the trip so there was plenty of space to roam around the island and not even see anyone else. While we were roaming, Hugo and his partner were busy firing up the grill and catching some fish for our lunch. Couldn't ask for any fresher fish than that. My wife and I were the first one's back and they gave us some fish parts to feed the baby sharks in the Blue Lagoon. The baby sharks are about the same color as the sand so they are hard to see. There were alot of sea cucumbers. You can pick them up and squeeze them and 'fresh, not salt' water comes out. Not sure that I would want to drink it, but it is there! After we ate and got back into the boat, only to pull into a coral area and we all got into the water for an up-close shark feeding. It was cool to watch the 3-4 ft black-Topped sharks swimming around, until the two 6-8ft lemon sharks came up from the bottom for a snack. Didn't know that my wife could walk on water until they showed up! But it is really beautiful. And stopping to float out of the lagoon and watch Hugo coax the eels out of the coral, is something we will always remember.

My friend and I purchased this tour independently from the cruise line, at a reduced rate. The guides were tremendous - helpful, informative and hardworking. We took the boat out to a small island where we could swim/snorkel with blacktip sharks while the crew grilled chicken and tuna steaks wrapped in banana leaves - delicious! Some also entertained with traditional music and demonstrations of palm-weaving. On the way back we stopped for shark feeding where some snorkeled with the sharks, but the water was pretty choppy at that point due to the weather, so we stayed on the boat and took pictures. Again, because of threatening weather we did not get to see the dolphins. Bring your reef shoes, snorkeling gear and cameras and be prepared for a great day in paradise.
