Fly above the rain forest! This is a long sky rail and the best in the Southern Hemisphere. A lot of places in NZ and AU have sky rails but this is the longest and best!

We prebooked prior to arrival and took the Kuranda Scenic Railway one way then rode the Skyrail back. We upgraded to Gold Class on the train (fantastic experience and very much worth the extra $49 pp) and upgraded to the Diamond View Gondola on the skyrail (personally, apart from not having to line up, I found it very unappealing and... I'm not a fan of heights so the SkyRail was a challenge for me, however the rainforest scenery was amazing and I am really glad that we had this experience. Kurandra is OK for a lunch stop but that was enough for us. The Scenic Railway back down was really interesting with some great views along the way, we also... More

We had prebooked tickets and times, but the times went out the window as we simply joined the long, long queue and just got on the next cable car as it arrived, so no special treatment for having a prebooked time. It was over half an hour in the queue and again at the changeover point half way - a... More

It's more than a Cablecar. It's an experience. The stops along the trip to the top of the mountain are fascinating. Don't miss this.

We booked our tickets one day in advance in one of the Esplanade's many booking stores, but this is actually not necessary. Even though they give you certain departure times, nobody really cares about those anyway. The ride itself gave awesome views over the treetops and the two stops are nice as well. There's actually not much to do in... More

Great experience "flying" over the treetops. The cablecars were well maintained, and the views amazing. The stops on the way are well worth stopping at, and the view of the Barron Falls was spectacular. Only glitch was they sent us the wrong photo digitally, so two families have missed out

Greetings from the rainforest Morgan G, Thanks for visiting the rainforest with us on Skyrail recently. We are glad you had a great experience flying over the treetops with us and that you stopped and explored our mid-stations Red Peak and Barron Falls whilst enjoying spectacular views. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused with a glitch with the digital... More

We spent time in Kuranda, at the markets, stopping by the scenic railway before our voyage on the sky rail. Rainy and cloud shrouded, it was like stepping back in time...calm, peaceful, so much lush greenery and quiet.

Recommend booking online before you arrive to avoid some of the queues. And combine it with the Tjapukai Cultural Centre for a great day. Loved the cable car journey. The views were amazing and the walks at the stops were enjoyable, especially where we could see the waterfall. Saw a bush turkey as well.
