We decided to take the scenic rail up to Kuranda and catch the sky rail back. So glad we did! As much as the train trip was interesting and informative historically the sky rail introduces you to the beauty of the rain forest from a different perspective. High above the canopy the air is sweet and clean and it is... More

Our family did a return trip on the skyrail during the school holidays. The trip itself was great and the views amazing. We had quite a wait at the first station to reboard, and again on the way down but this was expected given it was the holidays and the line moved pretty quickly so it was not so bad.

This was an awesome way to see the rainforest. We went up on the railway and down on the skyrail in order to get the views of the coast on the way home (except it was hidden by mist and clouds!) The views down in to the rainforest were great and it was a lot if fun. They tell you... More

This is a very smooth and well organised experience. From collecting your tickets to being guided onto the gondola everything is done with professional friendly care. The brochure points out the many tree species using the tower numbers to locate them as you glide across the tree tops and it's so peaceful up there. There are two stations where you can... More

Took the sky rail to Kuranda and had a wonderful day. It is a must do at least once in your life. This is my second trip in 2 years and it was just as good the second time. I recommend pre booking your times before you go and for the trip home from Kuranda a good dose of patience... More

During 1,5 hours flying in a condola through the tops of the rainforest. During the trip you can get out 2 times and walk trough the rainforest (take a guide!) and look at the marvelous waterfalls. Kundera (the village at the end) is very touristic and not that nice. However the boattrip on the river that you can take there... More

From Kuranda to Smithfield, skimming across the treetops of the rainforest below - amazing! Opportunity to hop off and walk around and look over at Barron Gorge Falls and another stop halfway down. Not a cheap thing to do, but we packaged it up with the train and wildlife park entries, and used our motor club membership for a discount.... More

Fantastic experience that gives you a real overview of size and scale of the coat to rainforest landscape of Cairns and surrounding area. Go up earlier rather than later and spend about an hour or two at the top- didn't have time to do the scenic railway or a boat tour but both looked worthwhile. Great trip and make sure... More

It was worth the money (75$ return) to go on the skyrail cableway to the Kuranda, a nice small village on top with beautiful spots.
