We had the wonderful experience of canoeing through the caves and magnificent mangroves during our tour of Phang Nga Bay.

Our guide, made the leisurely trip even more entertaining, although tipping him was a major factor in his spiel - not to be unexpected.

We thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely time we spent aboard the canoe and will enjoy the memories of this brief, but entertaining experience.

This Passion luxury catamaran tour of 3 islands took a whole glorious day with fun activities that included swimming, kayaking, canoeing and getting off on James Bond island made famous by the filming there of the 1974 James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun.

The hearty buffet lunch onboard was very good (I loved the Tom Yum soup and the Phad Thai most especially) and the chicken served for dinner was delectable. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of our boat but I was even more impressed by our tour guide, Maria, who was very thorough with giving instructions, imparting information, pointing out the beautiful sights during the tour, being entertaining. Kudos! The other guests/tourists with us were a great mix from all over the globe and my best friend and I had so much fun talking with the ones we met! Great crowd, great guide, great experience!

I would advise everyone not to visit this place or james bond island as there is nothing out there. It is a highly exaggerated tourist spot. The food given in between this and james bond island is sub standard. As the cost is very heavy and it is basically a boat ride , might as well avoid it.

My family and I were lucky enough to have a day to explore this awe-inspiring national park, which consists of extraordinary rock formations and forested islands. There are countless islands and caves in this region, so you could spend days exploring this area and not see everything. The bioluminescent bay is gorgeous! This area is best explored by longboat, as they’re smaller and easier to navigate. I recommend hiring a guide to show you the area, as it’s easy to get lost if you’re unfamiliar with the area.

Yes it's in all the guidebooks and there are so many trips to choose from that it could overly raise expectations. But it truly is a wonderful experience to sail among the islands and experience their magic. It will amaze you and you will be glad you got on that boat!
We took a speedboat trip courtesy of Siamadventureworld - more expensive than a bigger tour but we liked that they don't fill their boats to capacity and they time the trip to avoid bumping into other tourists - we really did feel we had the islands to ourselves and that made it feel special.

A wonder to absolutely visit

Excursion booked privately at the agency near the hotel.
For those who do not want to carry out the excursion individually, there is also the possibility of traveling in a group and taking the bus to the hotel.
Departure by private taxi from Khao Lak at 7.30am
Trip duration: 7 hours
with guide, English speaking and private longtail boat
Advice: comfortable clothing, hair, sunscreen, anti-mosquito cream

We left in pairs from Khao Lak by taxi with a guide, the journey to the port took about 1 hour.
A Longtail boat was waiting for us that we had rented just for us and took us around the Lake, they call it a lake but to us it seemed more like an indentation in the sea.
The guide explained to us very well everything there was to see and visit the islands and caves without rushing us.
There is the possibility of taking a nice canoe ride around the rock formations and inside the caves.

Lunch on the floating island included in the price.

On the way back visit the Monkey Temple cave with the Budha

Beautiful day on the water, very relaxing.

Have been to James Bond Island many times! Never get bored of it. Thinking that the actors of my 007 movie once been here (although I was not born yet in 1974). Everyone who comes here will enjoy posing as if the Bond 007. In Phang Nga Bay they also include the other attractions that you must not miss. For example, Ice Cream Cave, Mangroove Cave and Mangrove Forest, Hong Island, Panak Island, great fun on canoeing. Then after lunch we have chance to observe the Muslim ways of life on the Panyee Island. The amazing community settled in the water! They have got all the facilities there! My last trip I spoted the nice and modern coffee shop there and prices are different on the mainlain's! Last destination often be the Naka Island where you can relax, drinking, swimming, sunbathing. The Phang Nga Bay is good to visit at anytime of the year. Visiting the James Bond and Phang Nga Bay with friends and accuaintances could be great fun! Indie.

Canoeing in and around the amazing cave structures with an experienced guide was a one off experience. The colour of the water and the peaceful quiet was good for the soul. Our guide was in his 70's and was strong and agile, pointing out formations as we communicated in a mix of English and Thai. Be prepared to lie back in the canoe as you go in through the cave entrances. Don't feel obliged to tip but we did as the experience he shared with us was wonderful.

Phong na bay is outstanding. The scenery is stunning.
We took a speedboat day trip to 4 islands including the James Bond one.
Decent lunch at the Muslim village, canoeing in the afternoon with good guides and finishing on Naka island with a beautiful beach.
Booked with JP Andaman from Phuket.

It's not often that one gets the chance to experience something so incredibly surreal. For us, Phuket was a dream destination. Our first visit was a cruise, which included several other wonderful destinations, but we want to go back to Phuket! What made our visit to Phuket so special was the tour we took of Phang Nga Bay. We saw so many photos and videos beforehand, but for us to actually BE there, as brief a time as it may have been, was just so incredibly magical. We took a boat tour and had lunch at the fishing village, and the entire time we were just so tremendously enamored. We couldn't actually comprehend that we were actually there, the entire experience felt beyond surreal. We cannot wait to visit again!
