Beautiful waterfalls and mountain walk
May 2018 • Solo
This review needs to be read together with my other review under "Sidonggou Waterfall", for a more complete description of the place. Lots of bamboo trees, small water streams and some rare woody fern trees (Alsophila Spinulosa (Hook.) Tryon), as one walks through the area. The key attraction is the 4 waterfalls. I went there on a sunny weekday and there were not many visitors, but I was told that the place could get very crowded on public holidays.

Nice but directed toward mass tourism and overpriced

Concrete walking path built in a nice bamboo and fern forest with beautiful waterfalls.
It is really a theme park with free Wi-Fi, a Chinese fake KFC, golf carts to get around the sights...

Hike was nice and not crowded as the Chinese tourists took the golf carts between the waterfalls.
Easy to get there

85 cny entrance fee is way too expensive. (carts cost 30cny extra)
It is difficult to make abstraction of the carts going around.

Lovely, if it's off-season
Apr 2016 • Couples
We had such a lovely walk up the river, seeing the beautiful waterfalls and taking pics. We came on a Tuesday during the off-season and spent 90% of the day by ourselves. There is a bus service running between each site and most people took that, so as walkers we were left alone in between sites. It's definitely worth the walk as the forest between sites is wonderfully wild. That said, I would still recommend getting the bus ticket as its a long walk back along the same route of you don't!

The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that they are so obviously try no to squeeze out every penny of tourist cash they can. 85RMB for the entrance and then 30RMB for the bus. You then get dropped off in the shopping area and have to walk to the next bus. The staff were also very unhelpful, so we spent a long time working out what to do, even though my girlfriend is a local.

For anyone else going, you buy an entrance ticket on site after taking a taxi or a bus there. You can also choose whether to buy a bus ticket or not. Then you have to walk downstairs from the ticket office and get on the bus or walk (follow the bus route along and then across the river, it's pretty easy) to the site. After that it was a case of following the signs and always taking the low road for fun or the high road to stay dry!

The most visited sight around Chishui is still very nice to visit.
When we visited we were difinitely not the only ones visiting the sight but it was not completely packed.
Basically you´ll enter the park and will pass four waterfalls.
The whole tour takes about 2-4 hours to do.
The park is very nice with a lot of bamboo and nice red soil and rockformation.
We prefered the Red Rock Gorge, but this daytrip was also very nice.
There are foodstalls every now and then in the park.
To get there from Chishui take the local bus next to the Luyou Chezhan bus station.
The local busdrivers will already assume you want to go to Sidonggou and ask you if you want to go there once you arrive in the local bus station.
Entry fee 85 RMB/person
