We were recommended to visit Jiezi other than the other old towns in the Chengdu area because this is viewed as one of the most authentic and best preserved and restored. When you enter via the tourist centre and ask directions to the ancient town...More
Visited here yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The site was established in the Ming Dynasty, but most of what you see today is much later. Doesn't spoil the experience though. Lots of touristy shops, snacks, restaurants and photo opportunities. Worth a visit
I have been to dozens of ancient towns and found this to be quite nice. Less crowded than the typical ancient town, and quite pleasant. Can easily spend an afternoon strolling around enjoying the scenery and wandering around.
