Excellent outdoor time in Baishuizai National Park. The waterfall is massive, beautiful (even if man-made, as read elsewhere). The steps are fun to climb.

I was lucky to be rather alone during the hike. Not so many tourists and the weather was pleasant.

Easy to access with metro line 14 + didi ride.

When arrived there, there are a few ladies selling "cheaper" tickets than the price in the official locket. Interested, my friend and I agreed to buy the tickets from them. In fact we were asked to go with their mini van to "another" gate, which is a broken part of the fence. I scratched my skin when going thru the fence. No big issue though, I just wiped the scar with antiseptic wet tissue and stick a ban aid on it. But - if I know it was gonna be like that, I would just pay the normal price at the main gate.

The hiking trail was really nice and well maintained. There are benches to sit while you are tired. There are several huts selling tofu, snacks and drinks if you are hungry during the hikes.

The view was really nice, the higher u get, the more breathtaking the view is. We hiked and stop many times to take photos, so 4,999 stairs did not feel so hard.

After 4,999 stairs, we will see a huge lake with 80m depth. No swimming or water sports are allowed there. Just enjoy the calm view.

I would like to go back for some fresh air and exercise, maybe in autumn, so it won't be so hot and humid as summer.

Recommended for you who like sports, taking photos, and nature. Better bring mosquito repellent, as I got a few bites during the hikes.

Enjoy!

Great sceneries of beautiful Chinese nature, dozens of waterfalls, woods all around, fresh air, picturesque spots.. We really enjoyed this one day trip. We visited this place right on weekend before Chinese National Holiday, expected crowded paths but it didn't happen. Finding buses online to get to this place might be a problem for non-chinese speakers, luckily we get advantage of organized group trip.
I highly recommend to go to this hike despite the fact that 4000 steps up and 4000 back were quite challenging (now after 2 days still cannot walk without pain in our legs :D)

Man-made “natural” waterfall and hiking path would be a pleasant enough attraction in the autumn but like so many things here it was crowded on a Saturday afternoon and I hate to think how it is on national holidays.

It’s quite well constructed but the hike is primarily 4000 concrete steps to the top (and back down again) which is very challenging after a while. Each scenic viewpoint on the way is a social media photo opportunity so forget trying to pretend you’re alone in the wilderness.

It’s something to do if you’re in the area already but you wouldn’t go out of your way to visit here and the sheer crush of people acting inconsiderately to each other makes it a wearing experience rather than anything back to nature.

Dispite appearances, this is actually an artificial man made waterfall.

From the bottom it looks authentic but when you get the top, the water comes out of a giant pipe from the reservoir. Very disappointed to see that.

The route is well maintained with many viewing platforms on the way.

It takes 4999 steps to the waterfall and 9999 to the top of the mountain.

This is a very difficult and tiring hike.

Firstly I would like to say is that please please do not visit the Baishui Village Waterfall in holidays like China's National Day, New Year's Day, Labor Day, as there will be very crowed and you will feel it is difficult to move just a step up the mountain.

Weekend will be good choice. A tip is that please do not buy cheaper ticket outside the scenic spot. Go directly to the Ticket Office and it is easy to buy one.

There is a nice area selling foodstuffs before and after the trip to the falls. Nice weather, plenty of visitors when we were there on 3 November 2012. No time to get to the top - but well worth going for a look.

If you enjoy hiking and natural beautiful natural scenery, this is one for you. Maybe a little difficult for the old or unfit (4k steps to the first beauty spot, 10k to the second) but very much worth the effort.
