We spent a very pleasant afternoon shopping nearby and then wandering around the lake. A very peaceful experience.

This wetlands sanctuary is kind of bereft of bird life! There are a few depressed elk wallowing in mud and some alligators that had a puddle of water to swim in. The boat ride was lovely as were the walks over the water and through the gardens. It's good to see China trying to preserve the wetlands though.
