This is one of the places in China where one could see canola flowers in late April. It is quite popular with Chinese tourists. The views are reasonably good. However it is much less spectacular than Luoping in the Yunnan Province.

This place is 70km north from my hometown. It has been there for hundreds of years as a natural agricultural fields for 油菜花 (the yellow followers from which you can produce food oil, similar to bean or oliver). There are thousands of raised fields laying between countless canals, making quite a scene when all the flowers bloom in spring. So it became a hot tourism spot in recent years (of course the government started to collect entrance fees). To be honest, the view is stunning. But all the crowds and the way they operates kills half of it. The best way to go there is to drive yourself. Highly recommend to have some Chinese friends to accompany the visit if you don't speak Chinese. The boat ride often asks for tips on top of the boat ticket.
