伍仁桥坐落在早已不知干涸了多少年的河道上，紧邻它的一座现代桥上每天车来车往，车速快的话，即使从它身边经过也不会注意到它。伍仁桥的桥栏板快塌了，桥两头垒上砖就算是保护起来了，紧邻它的居民们每天将各种垃圾倒到河道里。整体感觉就是破败加肮脏，与国家重点保护文物极不相符。
