You can see the waterfall from the bottom with the short boat tour or you can go to on the top. Entrance to the top is in the field of sugarcanes and you can skip small path very easily. It could be bit slipery going through there, but the view is good. If you want to see monkeys, you should choose boat trip. And the view is better from the bottom.

We visited Grand River South East Waterfall whilst on a 5 island boat trip. It was stunning. Unfortunately it can only be viewed on a boat trip. Would recommend a visit to everyone!

We were cruising along the roads towards the south from the East coast and happened to see on the GPS that there is a waterfall near us. Out of curiosity we parked up and saw a couple tourists heading out from the trees.. We heading down there and behold, there was this beautiful waterfall. Yes, it is possible to be at the top of it and not down below on a boat!
See the photos :)

So this waterfall was just amazing, and as we were approaching it they some crew filming a bollywood movie, now you must look out for me and my squad in one of those movies neh. There were some rocks on our way close to the waterfall and water started getting into the boat and all I could think of was the Titanic hahaha, but the boat wasnt damaged thankfully. It was nice to see

It was a nice place to go on tour. The best was feeding the monkeys, this was included with five island tour operated by tino boats

Grand River South East Waterfall

The Grand River South East waterfall is another highly visited attraction in Mauritius. Situated in the South Eastern Coast of Mauritius, you will pass through meandering roads leading to coastal villages before you reach the waterfall. The visit of the waterfalls is usually combined with a trip to Ile aux Cerfs.

.

On the way to the waterfalls, you will be surprised by the drastic change of the scenery. From turquoise-blue waters to greenish waters surrounded by a vast area of verdant trees. With a little luck you might spot the monkeys which live there. The huge wall of basalt rocks allow you to discern the formation of this area. As you reach the far corner, you will see the gushing waterfalls.

.

We visited the waterfall on our way back from Ile aux Cerfs, I felt scammed cos it wasn’t what I was expecting (a spectacular view) guess it was because it rained and the water was so dirty, filthy and it had a bad smell. I felt like going back to collect a refund cos I felt super ripped off.

.

The departure point is generally at Trou D’eau Douce as it is the embarkation spot for many excursions leading to Ile aux Cerfs. You will most likely embark on a speedboat to discover the Grand River South East.

I won’t recommend you to visit this place but your experience might be different though.

Speedboat transfer to the GRSE waterfall is usually included with the Ile aux cerfs package. The boat takes you on a river cruise through areas of greenery and natural beauty. The final view of the waterfall from the boat is nice. Its not huge, but the water gushing down is definitely a sight not to miss. But the best part is perhaps the speedboat ride back to the beach.
