Fantastic food!
Dec 2021
This pub recently changed hands and started serving a new menu last week. Five of us went there for lunch today and I have to say every single meal was delightful. From the pulled pork ciabatta to the Malayan curry and the slow cooked belly pork and bacon mash & baked ham and eggs in between, we couldn’t fault with any of it. Highly recommend this place and will be making this a regular place to dine. There is something on the menu for everyone here and the the children's menu has a much broader selection than most places around here.

Excellent Mother’s Day treat
Mar 2019 • Family
We’ve just had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch. The food was very good. The staff were extremely helpful. The bonus was a Mother’s Day present of Prosecco, chocolates and candles. I thoroughly recommend this pub

Thursday Steak Night
Nov 2016 • Couples
We heard good reports regarding the Thursday Steak Night so we thought we would try this, the steaks were huge & very nice & tender, the onion rings were to die for & the wine we had was very pleasant & not expensive, all in all a very enjoyable evening.

tuesday evening quiz night
Oct 2015
my husband and i went along on a tuesday evening for a quiet evening out and found it was very enjoyable and staff were very helpful and pleasant they were lovely there was a quiz on which we entered £1 per person and at half time the manageress came out with with big trays of hot food free of charge (and beautiful too ) after the quiz had finished there was a game of card bingo to end a very enjoyable evening , to sum it up my husband was not drinking as he was driving i however did partake in a few (too many ) and it was a lovely pint we enjoyed ourselves that much we went the following week and were made to feel that at home we have now made it a regular night

Never again
Aug 2015 • Friends
I visited here with my children for a charity event in the private function room. We arrived and found the only food available was a choice of 3 sandwiches which my 5yr old could have made. A buttered bun with a cheese slice not even a bit of lettuce or any kind of salad. The function room is a lovely size and after standing at the bar for a few minute a member of staff came to say we had to go into the bar area to be served but considering the function room was packed I didn't see why one of the 3 members of staff couldn't come from the bar area to serve in the function area especially as there was no one in the bar area. I was especially annoyed when my eldest daughter went into the bar area to ask about the wifi and as that was where the staff was she got shouted at to get out the bar as it was 8pm and no children were allowed. I spoke to the lady who did this to find out she was the manageress and she stated this was the rules. I explained that there was no signs stating this and as we don't use this venue we do not know the rules. Maybe a sign on the door would be a good idea but she didn't seem to care and walked away. Maybe if there was staff in the room we were using then we wouldn't of had to go into the bar. I would never recommend this venue and found the manageress to be very unhelpful especially with dealing with a complaint.

Terrible
Had a carvery. I don't think I can comment positively. Manageress was abrupt when I told her what I thought of the meal (because she asked me if everything was ok) dry meat, cold potatoes (had to wait for these so everything else was cold.
Absolutely no atmosphere. Would NOT recommend
