San Salvatore is a village that was chosen in the past as a perfect location for western movies. Small one floor houses and a wide square. The village looks abandoned even if there are inhabitants.

The layout of this tiny village is so community based. The doorways into each house are very low, and I was told this is because Sardinians are small in stature.

Stayed in the Agritourismo Sinis which is two minutes away from San Salvatore. An amazing experience. All the food, wine and liqueurs are made on site and there is a menagerie with donkeys, pigs, chickens, ducks and two ostriches. The staff are all members of...More

around the church of San Salvatore you wander in a western style entourage, little pilgrimshouses, the main attraction however is the little church and not even the church itself, but the crypt: you step down back in time, through a hatch, into a Roman 'temple',...More
