Crystal clear water, dazzling quartz sand, however too well known and costly parking! So drive down the coastal beach track for a few 2 or 3 km and have just the same with very few people and park for free! Enjoy a really nice lunch at Spiaggia Maimone....

This is considered the best beach of the peninsula of Sinis. Cristal clear water and white sand made by little quartz stones that make it, and the sister beach of Mari Ermi, unique (I cannot avoid to give it the highest score). Unfortunately it si not as white as it was used to be because (sounds unbelievable) in the last few years lots of sand was stolen by locals and tourists. Also, be prepared to run into a crowd of people if it is high season. It returns to be magical in low season.

There is only one chiosco/bar. Paid parking.

Perfect wide beach, with white sand. Beautyfull area with a good surf training center. Important: you have to pay for parking only in the front street. Other, smaller streets are for free!

We drove over 2 hours each way to visit this beach and I have to say I was slightly underwhelmed on arrival. The beach is made up of tiny little stones and the water close to the shore is very clear but it gets deep very quickly and is full of rocks. There is a cafe type place on site which we didn’t buy anything from as we decided not to stay too long and it also has a toilet which is in desperate need of renovation! No loo seat and not overly clean which I was slightly surprised about giving the current situation with COVID-19. The place looked slightly derelict but maybe this was because we were visiting in September which is not peak season? Either way, we both agreed it was a little disappointing

This beach is not bad. The god thing is that the beach is in a natural reserve and you wo'nt find any building ruining the view.
The bad thing is that this beach is very crowded and massive.
You have to pay for parking (2to 3 eur per hour) like in all beaches in Sardegna.

Don't take the quartz sand away as you will get fined a lot of money...
This beach is very beautiful and the sand makes it even more appealing.
You can get arrested if found taken the sand away...

Positives: postcard like beach with mostly white sand and super clean water. Perfect for snorkeling.

Negatives: pricey car park under the sun, stone age showers, dirty public toilets, only two bars which charge rip off prices. Lack of services in general and no/weak mobile phones signal depending where you go.

Avoid July and August.

Be respectful do not take sand with you or leave garbage behind, including cigarette butts. They are both illegal.

From SS131 main road it takes half an hour to reach the beach. You can drive on SP59 directly to the parking next to the seashore. Parking is 9€ a day but you can pay shorter period, too. (Or free if you stay more remotely possibly in non-parking zone or on road bank.) The beach was really crowded (afternoon of a July Wednesday), we could find some free spot slightly farther from the sea. The coast is steep on land-side and in the water, too. The sand (or really small pebbles size of caviar) is mostly white and really surprising but less comfortable to walk in as you will sink in it. We visited a windy and cloudy day hence the water was less transparent and less turquoise. The services are limited: an expensive bar with weak selection. If you are around, it is worth to visit but there are several beautiful beaches on the island.

Last summer I spent in Sardinia. We had a tour around the island and we saw many beaches. Most of them are stunning but this one I found my favorite. Amazing place to do snorkeling, you enter the sea, two three meters from the beach and the sea is 5 or more meters deep with amazing underwater views. Sand on the beach is very unusual, the sand grains have 2, 3 millimeters size which makes you feel like you are walking over tiny balls. There are some nice rock formations nerby. The whole place is beautiful and full of stunning views. I can strongly recommend that beach.

Really nice place with the unique quartz sand and crystal clear water. It is a little ride to get there, and you can park for free if you accept walking some hundred meters (we parked at the first available parking to the right of the road before entering beaches). There are no sun beds or service staff here, and probably not the best beach for little kids. We went here in June and there was quite some people, but I would not say crowded.
