Mural paintings are highly sought after by tourists armed with spare time and mobile cameras. Cities around the world boast neighborhoods with more or less original artworks on house walls, where tourists flock to immortalize the artists' efforts.

Jamans' murals rank among the less talented. Unfortunately, the artists don't seem to have much inspiration; they just want to attract customers to the area's cafes.

One of the better paintings - the boy sitting on a glowing crescent moon in the night - is directly lifted from the Dreamworks logo. Too many other works are dull cartoon characters that anyone with a spray can could mass-produce.

Those of you who are looking for the Spirited Away mural, just know that it is no longer there. It has been painted over and it's now a blue sky-looking background. My son was really disappointed as he is a huge Spirited Away fan.

Basically an art village featuring all sorts of murals, particularly manga related.

Not as big as the famous ones like Gamcheon in Busan but certainly comes with its own style too. Nice for a bite-sized tour at 1-2 hours.

On the hills the streets of this village wend their way up and down displaying various colourful murals and it was a pleasant wander. It is low key but I like walking and there were lots of side streets to explore. We ended up at the ET cafe looking down across the valley and the houses which was a lovely way to finish our visit. The cafe had inside and outside (under umbrellas) views and a pleasant vibe.

Making the trek uphill and throughout the labyrinth that is Jeonju’s Jaman Mural Village, is truly worth the effort.
This hilltop settlement of painted houses, walls, quaint cafes and little stores is located just across the busy main road from the Jeonju Hanok Village. It can also be accessed via a pedestrian walkway connecting from the Jeonju Hanok Village’s hilltop Park.
Full of painted houses, elaborately decorated walls with murals ranging from brilliant art work to manga to Hollywood animation, this Village is truly an interesting way to spend a couple of hours wandering through its lanes.
There are many cafes that offer views of the Park across the street. There are tiny stores and game arcades as well. For those who wish to stay amidst this uniqueness, there are guesthouses and B&Bs.
A must do is to perch yourself on one of the balconies of the cafes or make your way to any edge of the hill and watch the sunset over the Jeonju Hanok Village Park.
I loved my time here and know I will return soon someday.

We were staying in a tiny hanok just beneath this village across the road so popped up here as the sun was setting for the wonderful views. Just wander around and see the different street art and maybe have a drink in one of the cute cafés. You’re sure to find some piece of art that means something to you.

Thus tiny area is perched on a steep side - the roads are arrow & at some points just lead to dead ends. There is colour at every turn & a variety of different pictures painted on the walls of houses, fences & even the pavement. It's a 10 minute detour from the main road & there are a couple of cafes selling hot food & drinks

Not worth it, unless you have run out of things to do. Jeonju is a wonderful little village. The mural village feels like they took an area and tried to get some tourists to walk throigh.

Some lovely street art in a peaceful setting just above the Hanok village. Not sure why some people are being so harsh it’s evident the people who live here have tried hard to create a nice space where they live. Some of the cafes are lovely and there are a few small shops. Would certainly recommend an hour here.

Very nice village with beautiful graphics street arts. Most of them are Mangas drawing and Hayao Miyazaki films but it’s worth the walk. Children and adult children will love it
