I love an afternoon in Parkgate. We have a pint at the Boathouse, outside if the weather is good enough. Then walk to Red Lion for another. Then on to the Ship. We eat at the Ship or Chows - both great. Finish up with...More

Lovely to walk along what used to be a sea/river wall on the River Dee. A hundred years ago ships used to drop anchor here, but the Parkgate side silted up. Now a marshy wetland, it was quite pretty. It was quite chilly today, but...More

Good views and lovely ice cream shop but other than a walk along the front (don't expect a beach - just marshland) not much else.

It can be very busy and difficult to find a parking place but if you carry on down to the end and go past the black and white pub there is parking in the park beyond.

Went to Parkgate for a walk along the seafront (although there is no sea), which has a wonderful view across the Dee estaury to the Welsh coast. This is always a very popular place, if you can get parked, but well worth the effort

Parkgate was always a nice place to go for a walk and an ice cream. I had not been back there for years. It is now more manicured and a delightful description for a weekend away. The view of North Wales is wonderful, the walk...More

This is a lovely place to visit. Plenty of places for a drink or to eat and the views across to Flintshire and Point of Ayr are stunning. You can walk from one end to the other in about 10 minutes without breaking into a...More

Beautiful area with amazing panoramic scenery across to Wales. Amazing birds on the marsh, lovely pubs either end but since Elephant opened their bar/cafe in the centre there have been many uncouth tourists who think they can just walk across the road or down the...More
